Open House at BAEC-Candy Land

Dear BAEC Families:

Hello! Please join us at our elementary open house next week. I cordially invite you to attend to meet and greet your children's wonderful teachers and to visit their engaging learning environments.

Our open house is always a huge success and we are overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude by the family members who show support for their children and for their community school.

I personally look forward to another enjoyable evening with you and I am pleased to have the opportunity to meet the families of our students.

Grades 3-5: Tuesday, September 27, 2022: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

5:00 PM - 6:30 pm: Families whose last names begin with the letters A - M

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm: Families whose last names begin with the letters N - Z.

(suggested hours to visit your child's teachers so all are able to social distance, have available parking, and have time to visit the book fair and food truck)

*Mr. Campa (Physical Education), Ms. Knouse (Information Technology), Mrs. Betschart (Music), Mrs. Martello (Speech), Mrs. Hughes (Learning Support), Mrs. Bailey (Learning Support), Mrs. Obranovich (Learning Support), Mrs. Suica (Learning Support), Mrs. Nardone (Title 1 Math), Nurse Evers (School Nurse), and Ms. Grasha (School Counselor) will be in attendance.

*Mr. Sargent (Art), Mrs. Shaffer (Title 1 Reading), Mrs. Mitchell (Speech), Miss Schaming (Learning Support), and Ms. Schmidt (Autistic Support) will be in attendance as well.

Please know that Open House is an opportunity to visit your community school and meet the talented educators who work with your children every day. This is not a conference night or a night to discuss court orders/custody issues. Teachers and staff will be happy to have a conversation with you but ask that you save that more detailed conversation for a private setting such as a parent-teacher conference. Thank you for your cooperation.

Parking is available at BAEC as well as the Middle/High School. The BAEC doors open at 5:00 pm.

📣M/HS Cheerleaders: We will have the M/HS cheerleaders at BAEC to greet and welcome our school community and spread some Blue Devil cheer to all.

🚍Food Truck: Bob & Cindy Lonick's Food Truck will be onsite as we had in past years. Families will be able to purchase hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, nachos, and cabbage & noodles for dinner. Best Committee volunteers will be assisting our customers.

📚Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the BAEC library on the second floor. Monica Gross and BEST Committee volunteers will be hosting the book fair along with M/HS Hope Club members. We are trying to reach a goal of $2000.00 in profits. The monies help fund student agendas and folders, classroom events, field trips, assemblies, and end-of-year grade-level activities.

🍎Cafeteria: Mr. Hal Minford, Aramark Food Service Director, will be in the elementary cafeteria to answer any questions about food service.

🚌School Bus: Mrs. Slay and BASD bus drivers will be in attendance and have bus safety information to pass out to the students.

🍭Title I: Mrs. Ferencuha and our Title I staff will be present. Please plan on participating in the great Marble Maze Adventure!

🎫Social Studies: Mr. Rendulic, BAEC Social Studies Department Chair, will have posters to raffle off. Don't forget to stop by his table to register for a chance to win!

8:00 pm: BAEC doors close. School resumes the next morning at 9:00 am.
