Campion College Newsletter
Week Two, Term Three: 27 July- 2 August 2026
KARAKIA
Loving God,
You are the source of all peace, hope, and love.
In a world that can sometimes feel busy, uncertain, and divided,
help us to be people who choose kindness over conflict,
understanding over judgement, and forgiveness over resentment.
Grant us peaceful hearts, patient minds, and compassionate spirits.
Help us to see Christ in one another and to treat every person with dignity and respect.
Bless our Campion College community.
May our words build others up, our actions reflect Your love,
and our choices bring unity and hope.
Guide us to be peacemakers in our classrooms,
on the sports field, in our homes, and throughout our community.
Give us the courage to stand for what is right and the wisdom to respond with grace.
We ask that Your peace fills our hearts today and always.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A WORD FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Tēnā koutou parents, students, staff, and whānau,
This Sunday, I have the privilege of welcoming prospective students and their whānau to my first Open Day as Tumuaki, Principal of Campion College.
Choosing a secondary school is one of the most important decisions a family will make. As parents, we all want to know that our children will be happy, safe, challenged to achieve their potential, and surrounded by people who genuinely care about them.
Although I am new to the role of Principal, I have been part of the Campion College community for many years. Stepping into this role has given me an even greater appreciation of what makes our College such a special place.
It isn't our buildings or our programmes that define us. It is our people.
Every day I see students who are known by name, teachers who go the extra mile, older students supporting younger students, and a community that genuinely lives our values of Commitment, Compassion and Community. I see students encouraged to pursue excellence, discover their gifts and develop into young people of faith, character and service.
This week, we have been filming a promotional video for Open Day, asking students to complete one simple sentence:
"I love Campion College because..."
Listening to their responses has been one of the highlights of my week. Some spoke about friendships. Others spoke about their teachers, sport, culture, leadership opportunities or simply feeling accepted for who they are. Every response was different, but together they told one powerful story—Campion College is a place where students feel they belong.
As Principal, that gives me enormous confidence. When young people feel that they belong, they have the courage to learn, the confidence to lead, and the compassion to serve others.
If you are considering Campion College for your child, I warmly invite you to join us this Sunday from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. Come and meet our students and staff, explore our learning spaces, and experience firsthand what makes Campion College such a special community.
I look forward to welcoming you and your whānau.
Yours in Christ
Karyn Sadler
Principal

YEAR 7 & 8 NEON DISCO
What a fantastic evening at our Year 7 & 8 Neon Disco! It was wonderful to see such a great turnout, with our junior students enjoying an evening of music, dancing and fun together.
A huge thank you to Matua Ben, who kept the dance floor buzzing all night with an awesome playlist and plenty of energy as our DJ.
This was our first junior social event of this kind in many years, and judging by the smiles, laughter and enthusiasm, it was a huge success. Events like these provide wonderful opportunities for students to connect, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories outside the classroom.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. We look forward to making the Year 7 & 8 Disco an annual Campion College tradition!

IMPACT PROJECTS
This term, our students are diving into a brand-new rotation of Impact Projects, with exciting opportunities to learn, create, explore and serve. From developing practical skills and discovering new passions to working alongside others and giving back to our community, there really is something for everyone!
Impact Projects are all about bringing our values of Commitment, Community and Compassion to life through authentic, hands-on learning. We encourage our students to make the most of these opportunities, challenge themselves to try something new, and embrace the experiences that make learning at Campion College so unique.
