From the Principal's Desk
Dear SHS Families,
Happy Easter! What a great week to celebrate the Easter Octave at the school. With our 2nd graders going on retreat to prepare for their First Holy Communion coming up, Ms. Staley receiving a surprise from the EMBRACE foundation, our 3rd-6th graders representing our school well at the Franklin County Track Meet, or the beautiful time we were able to spend together in adoration this Friday during Benediction, It was a great week to be in celebration of the risen Lord!
Next week, our 3rd through 6th graders will be taking their state assessments. If you have a child in one of those classes, I encourage you to have a brief conversation with them about the importance of giving our best efforts in all that we do, some strategies, including taking their time and double-checking all their answers, and most importantly, assuring them to have confidence in what they have learned. Other ways to support your student next week include helping them have a good breakfast and leaving encouraging words for each assessment. I will be praying for clarity of heart and mind for our students next week.
As the end of the school year begins to approach, I ask that everyone keep an eye on the school calendar. Activities and events are already starting to stack up, and we are keeping the school’s Google calendar up to date with everything to keep you all well informed. Please use this resource so your family does not miss anything.
With Faith & Hope,
Patrick (P.J.) Greer
