Warm Indoors, Big Smiles All Around!
Due to temperatures dropping below safe outdoor levels, we held Indoor Recess to ensure students comfort and well-being.
This provided students with a warm, safe space to stay active, play, and connect with friends. From games to creative activities, the children made the most of their time indoors and truly enjoyed themselves.
We’re excited to share a few photos capturing the smiles and fun from our indoor recess time!
Our 3rd graders shining on stage!
Our 3rd grade students presented a lovely music performance, highlighting the skills they’ve been developing in music class. Their focus, energy, and excitement made it a special moment to remember.

Calendar Sync Update
Due to our recent website platform change, the process for syncing school and district calendars with your personal calendar is now different. The previous calendar sync from our former website will no longer show the most up-to-date information.
To continue receiving accurate event updates, please disconnect or delete the old calendar link and add the new one…it takes just a minute! A short how-to video is linked below to walk you through the steps.
AUTHOR VISIT!
Let’s celebrate reading and writing with a very special author visit!
We are excited to welcome James Riley to Ivy Hill School! He will be visiting with our 3rd–5th grade students to talk about writing, books, and storytelling.

To help prevent these illnesses, please remind your child to practice healthy habits, including:
Washing hands frequently.
Staying well-hydrated.
Avoiding the sharing of personal items, food, or drinks.
Refraining from touching their eyes.
Covering their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing.

Gym & Recess Participation Guidelines
Excusing Children from PE - Physical Education
Parents may request that their child be excused from Physical Education for one day due to a medical reason. Any absence beyond one day requires a physician’s note.
For elementary students, physician orders must clearly state any restrictions for both Physical Education and Recess. Students who are unable to participate in Physical Education may not participate in school-sponsored sports during that time.

Health Blurb: Staying Well This Season
Dear Ivy Families!
With the cooler weather and illnesses increasing, we want to remind you that all medication, including over-the-counter items such as cough drops and throat lozenges, must be brought to school by a parent or guardian and stored in the health office. A medication authorization form must also be completed by a doctor for each medication (linked here).

Every day that your child is not in school, is late or is leaving early the office needs to know!! There are three ways to notify us and they are available 24 hours a day!
1. Our GOOGLE FORM - just write in the information - you don't have to talk to anyone!
2. Our ATTENDANCE HOT LINE - Just call 847-398-4275 (the main number) and press 1 - leave us a message.
3. Email office - ihoffice@sd25.org

DISMISSALS
We want every student to get home safely and smoothly, and your help makes a big difference! Dismissal is at 3:35 p.m. — please plan to pick up walkers at that time.
If your child’s usual dismissal plans change—for example, being picked up by someone different, walking home instead of taking the bus, or any other change—in addition to emailing your child’s teacher, please also email the school office at ihoffice@sd25.org. The earlier in the day that we know, the easier it is on our end.
Thank you for keeping us in the loop! With your support, dismissal can be calm, organized, and as joyful as the start of the day.
We’d love to hear from you!
