New Attendance Procedures
Good afternoon,
As a reminder, parents/guardians are required to provide written notification to the school for each day their child is not in attendance. Absences shall be treated as unlawful until the district receives a written excuse explaining the absence, to be submitted within three (3) days of the absence. The district will not change the attendance code for written notifications received after (3) three days.
Throughout the summer, Boyertown Area School District has worked to streamline the absence reporting process for all stakeholders. Parents and guardians can now complete an absence request through their Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. The Infinite Campus Absence Request feature has replaced the Google Attendance forms and can be used for absences, late arrivals, early departures, and to begin the educational trip request process. This Absence Request Video shows you how to complete the IC Absence Request process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please send an email to campusportalhelp@boyertownasd.org or contact your building’s Attendance Secretary.
Thank you for your attention to this important update. We appreciate your cooperation.

Notes from the Nurse
We are excited to begin the 25/26 school year and hope you had a restful summer with family and friends!
Below are a couple of reminders for this upcoming school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the health room nurses at 610-473-5270.
Physical & Dental Forms: All state mandated Kindergarten and 3rd grade Family Dental Form and all Kindergarten Private Physical Exam Form are due now. If you have an upcoming appointment, please notify the health room of it, and we will note the date in your child’s record.
Medication Information: If your child requires prescription or over-the-counter medication while at school, a Medication Authorization Form must be completed by the physician and parent/guardian. Once completed, contact the health room to schedule an appointment to drop off your child’s medication and paperwork. Prescription medications must be in the original pharmacy-labeled container. Over-the counter medication must be in its original packaging. Please refer to the BASD website for more information.
Returning Paperwork: Please return any health room forms via email if possible. You can scan and email the original document or email a photograph from your phone to either nurse: dwilson@boyertownasd.org or cbohner@boyertownasd.org
Change of Clothing: Please keep a change of clothing in your child’s backpack. Clothing can become soiled due to a bathroom accident, fall outside in the mud, or because of spilling food/drink. The health room may not have appropriately sized clothing, so if your child needs it, a parent will be called to bring clothing in for the student.
Food/Snacks: Please remind your child(ren) not to share lunch and/or snacks. There are several students with food allergies and/or food sensitivities and sharing food could cause an issue.
If food items are brought into school by students for birthday celebrations or class/school parties, they must be pre-packaged with the ingredients listed. Please try to provide snacks that are peanut/tree nut free to avoid allergies issues/concerns.
Recess/PE shoes: Please remind your child(ren) to wear closed toe and comfortable shoes as they will go outside for recess as the weather allows. Please discourage crocs and sandals, as there tend to be more falls with students wearing these. Sneakers are encouraged for PE class.
If your child is not feeling well, please keep them at home. If your child arrives at school not feeling well and does not have a temperature of 100 or above, they will be encouraged to return to class and complete the school day. Please refer to the BASD Illness and Injury at School and Illness: Keeping Your Child Home from School links for more information.
Head Lice: Although lice cannot jump, they are easily transmittable through hugging, sharing combs, sharing hats and coats, etc. Please remind your child not to share items such as these with other students. Please refer to the BASD Head Lice Procedures for more information.
We know this is a lot of information, so if you have any questions, please let us know. We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
