Principal's Remarks
Next Friday, October 30, marks the end of our first quarter, which seems to have arrived too quickly. I want to thank our students, staff, families, and community for a strong start to the school year. This fall has been filled with learning, growth, and school spirit, and I am proud of all that our students have accomplished so far.
As we near the end of the fall sports season, I extend congratulations to our fall athletes and coaches on a successful season. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment have represented our school with pride both on and off the field, court, course, and track.
Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate American Education Week, November 16-20, as an opportunity to recognize the incredible work of our teachers, staff, and families who support student success every day. We invite our community to join us in thanking all those who make a difference in the lives of our students.

STEM of Many Colors: Guest Speakers Wanted!
Carver Center is excited to host STEM of Many Colors on Tuesday, November 17! This special event will connect students with diverse professionals working in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), with a particular focus on highlighting the experiences and career journeys of people of color in STEM fields.
Are you a parent or guardian working in a STEM field, or do you know someone who might be interested in participating? We'd love to hear from you!
If you're interested in sharing your career experiences and inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals, please contact Ms. Jennifer McGough, Career Navigator, at jmcgough2@bcps.org.
Picture Day Make-Up
If your child was absent or needs a make-up picture for another reason, please mark November 18 on your calendar.
Weather and Drop-Off
Students who are late to school because weather impacted their arrival are tardy to school. Weather related delays are not excused. Please be aware of the weather forecast and plan to leave earlier on impacted days.
Yearbooks
If your child wants a yearbook, they must order by February 19, 2027. We do not order extra yearbooks. The only guaranteed way to ensure your child has one is to order. I stress this because we have disappointed students each year, and I always hope to avoid that.
