Attendance Matters
Attendance and STAAR Scores
Regular school attendance directly affects your child's academic success, particularly on the STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) test. When students miss too many days of school, they miss valuable lessons and opportunities to learn critical concepts, which can lead to significant gaps in their knowledge. These gaps make it more difficult for students to meet the expectations of the STAAR test, which evaluates their understanding of subjects like math, reading, writing, and science.
Regular attendance not only helps your child stay on track with their learning, but it also supports their engagement and connection with the school. Students who attend school consistently are more likely to feel involved in the classroom, participate in lessons, and receive the support they need from teachers and classmates. We encourage you to ensure that your child attends school regularly, as consistent attendance is one of the key factors in helping them perform well academically and achieve the success they are capable of. Your partnership in this effort is crucial to your child's growth and future success.
