Slate Ridge Weekly Newsletter

Principal’s Corner
We had a great first RISE Assembly today! We spent some time talking with our students about what it means to be a Toucan at Slate Ridge and the expectations we have for ourselves and each other. We reviewed the RISE Way: Respect, Integrity, Self-Control, and Engagement and what that looks like in our classrooms, hallways, and throughout our school.
I also want to continue to emphasize the importance of being at school every day and on time. Every day matters, and being here consistently makes a big difference in student learning and success.
We are also excited about our Perfect Attendance Contest this year! Students who have perfect attendance will have opportunities to earn special incentives throughout the year.
Parents, please take a look at the contest information below to see how your child can participate.
Let’s have a great year, Toucans!
Warmly,
Dr. Parlar, Principal

Our students are staying in the game!
September is Attendance Awareness Month! This week, our students had the opportunity to take the Stay in the Game! Student Attendance Pledge, making a commitment to attend school regularly and make every school day count.
Now, we are inviting our Toucan Families to join us! Families can take the Stay in the Game! Family Attendance Pledge to show your commitment to helping students attend school every day and stay connected to learning.
Take the Family Pledge: https://stayinthegame.org/pledge/
Together, we can Show Up, Learn, Grow, and Stay in the Game!
