CCA's January Character Trait: Kindness
The January character trait of the month at CCA is kindness. This week Allie asked three students, “What does kindness mean to you?” Audrey in 3rd grade said, “Kindness means being nice to someone.” Sarah Grace in 4th grade said, “It means being good.” Lastly, Macy in 5th grade said, “Kindness means giving others goodness.” Luke 6:35 says, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.” Patriots, remember to focus on the Fruit of the Spirit Kindness in January! –Allie
Devotion Corner
This week’s devotion is from “Grand Canyon University: and is titled Unfailing Love,” which is based off of the Bible verse 1 John 4:16, “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives on God, and God in them.”

Class Spotlight: 4th Grade
Lilly is the student cadet teacher for the 4th grade class this semester, which is part of the A+ requirement. During her cadet teaching time this past week she observed 4th grade students working on types of angles and lines in Math class. They were particularly working on parallel and perpendicular lines, and students did a pretty good job understanding them. Students were quiet and ready to work.

CCA Chapel ⛪
On Friday morning the worship team led students at chapel in singing Reckless Love, Champion, and Fake Love. If you haven’t heard those songs, they are beautiful; we had so much fun singing them! The Chapel presentation was a 12 minute video that the juniors created for us. They did an amazing job! The video basically told us that we need Jesus in our life because tomorrow is not promised. Mrs Hyke will let us know when the video is uploaded to our CCA YouTube page so you can watch it. –Sophia
Survey Says: Dark Chocolate vs. Milk Chocolate
This week's Survey Says question was: would you rather have dark chocolate or milk chocolate? Sixty-three students were surveyed; out of that, thirteen students said they would rather eat dark chocolate, while fifty students said they would rather eat milk chocolate. Fun fact, milk chocolate originated in Switzerland, and it takes 400 beans to make 1 pound of chocolate! --Miyah
Senior Spotlight: Dakoda Vallentine
This month's senior spotlight is Dakoda Vallentine. Dakoda has attended CCA since the 4th grade. She plays volleyball and basketball at CCA. Dakoda’s favorite snacks are spicy Doritos and sprite. Her favorite song is God does by Red Clay Strings. In her free time she enjoys watching Hulu. Dakoda’s favorite CCA memory was when Mrs. Hyke yelled at them on their junior class trip. Dakoda is going to miss filming chapels the most when she graduates in May. –Maggie
