Explore. Learn. Create.
Hello ELC families,
Spring is finally here, bringing with it a refreshing sense of renewal and growth! As the days grow longer, flowers begin to bloom, and birds return to their nests, we can’t help but feel the vibrant energy of the season.
At the ELC, we’re excited to embrace the beauty of spring through our upcoming lessons and activities. Our children have been, or will soon be, learning about the fascinating world of insects, plants, and flowers. These topics offer wonderful opportunities to explore the wonders of nature, encouraging curiosity and hands-on learning. From understanding the life cycle of insects to discovering how plants grow and thrive, our students are engaged in a rich, dynamic curriculum designed to spark their imagination and deepen their connection to the natural world.
We kindly request that you arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 AM, unless you are already on an approved schedule. We have students arriving at 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, 9:00, and 9:15, and early arrivals can be disruptive to the learning environment. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated to help maintain a smooth and focused atmosphere for all. Thank you for your understanding!
We are also thrilled to be on Spring Break, a well-deserved time for rest and rejuvenation. We look forward to the continued exploration and growth that this season will bring as we return refreshed and ready for more exciting learning experiences.
Wishing everyone a joyful and restful Spring Break!

Red Classroom
March goes by quickly with two main family events. We had the "Donuts with Dad" event, which was wonderful. It was great to see dads attending a workshop called “Screen Time,” presented by Dan Binder. He discussed how technology has evolved our lives and its impact on children's learning when they spend time in front of screens. Thank you Dan!!!
Zavier led the storytelling with "I’ll Wait, Mr. Panda."
The kids delighted in eating donuts with their dads and then showed their Montessori work to them.

Cat in the Hat
Our students were delighted to receive a surprise visit from Ms. Joy, our beloved librarian! On this special occasion, she arrived dressed in a fantastic outfit that perfectly captured the whimsical spirit of The Cat in the Hat. The students were thoroughly engaged as Ms. Joy read the interactive story, bringing the characters and events to life in a truly captivating way. This visit was the culmination of a week filled with exciting activities centered around the classic book, and the students had an absolute blast connecting their learning experiences with the fun and energy of the story. It was a memorable moment that fostered both imagination and a love of reading.
Orientation & Mobility
Introducing Traffic Patterns
Jenny Enache & Tara Lawson
Sylvia practiced her shore lining skills to find a location. Her task was to locate Ms. Enache’s office from her classroom in Cary White. Along the way, Sylvia realized she had taken a wrong turn in Gibbs Hall and corrected her course. Upon reaching Ms. Enache’s office, Sylvia explored the play traffic mat, identifying street signs and buildings. She excitedly recognized a roundabout, demonstrating her grasp of orientation and mobility vocabulary. Sylvia then played with cars on the mat, learning about traffic patterns and routes to various businesses, all while having a great time.
