Weekly Attendance Update
1st Grade in the Lead! Way to go, 1st Grade!
Thank you for helping our Tigers to be on time!
Our school day is FULL of learning. Every minute is important. Our school lessons begin at 7:40 am; thus, our Tigers need to be inside the building and at their desks by 7:40 am.
We encourage our Tigers to be on time.
On the rare occasions when your Tiger(s) may be tardy, please escort your Tiger(s) into the building to sign him/her/them in for the day. All tardy students need to be escorted into the building to be signed in by a parent or guardian, please and thank you!
G3 Student Businesses are BIG NEWS!
As you may have seen in social media, our G3 classrooms are running two student-led businesses: G3 Snacks and Stuff, a snack cart for staff and teachers, and the G3 Coffee Cart, which visits teachers and staff with coffee and a treat.
Students take on jobs such as pushing the carts, knocking on doors, managing and counting money, and tracking inventory and sales. Coreboards are also used as a visual to communicate and practice counting the items being sold.
These projects are a fun way for students to build real-world skills, including communication, money handling, responsibility, and teamwork.

Testing Timeline
The referral window for 1st-12th grade opens at the beginning of the school year and remains open through the end of the 1st grading period. A teacher, parent, student, or other interested person observing a student with consistent evidence of gifted characteristics may refer him/her during the appropriate referral window; however, a parent must be the one to complete the official referral form, which gives us permission to assess the student.
LTISD Elementary G/T Referral Form - Open 8/12/2026, Close 10/15/2026
LTISD Secondary G/T Referral Form - Open 8/12/2026, Close 10/15/2026

Students arriving during the 4th grading period may be referred for testing the following school year. Students previously enrolled in a Gifted and Talented program in another school district cannot be assessed until they are properly enrolled in LTISD.

Parents have the right to appeal the results of their child's assessment results.
