Hello Bothwell Families!

We are scheduling Parent / Teacher conferences between September 21st and October 13th. We want to make sure you have the opportunity to see your child's progress. Please look for an email from your child's teacher with sign-up information.

During conferences, the teachers will share MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) reports. This report is generated from the beginning of the year testing and provides meaningful insights into your child's progress and performance.

Why MAP Testing is Important:
MAP is an important assessment tool that helps us understand your child's academic strengths and areas for growth. It is adaptive, meaning that the difficulty of questions adjusts based on your child's responses, allowing us to get an accurate measure of their current academic level. This data helps teachers tailor instruction to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring personalized learning that supports their progress.

What the Family Report Shows:
- RIT Score: This is your child's overall score, which reflects their academic level in math and reading. The score can be compared to previous assessments to see their growth over time.
- Growth Data: The report highlights how much academic progress your child has made since their last MAP test.
- Percentile Rank: This section shows how your child compares to other students in the same grade nationwide.
- Performance Categories: Based on their RIT score, your child will fall into a specific performance category, indicating whether they are below, at, or above grade-level expectations.

We encourage you to review the family report and have a conversation with your child about their results. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate their progress and set goals for future growth.

How will Bothwell use MAP data?
Our staff will use the MAP data to tailor instruction and better meet the needs of each student. By analyzing the results, we can identify individual strengths and areas for growth, allowing us to adjust our teaching strategies and provide targeted support where needed. The data will also guide our efforts in small-group instruction, intervention programs, and enrichment opportunities, ensuring that all students are challenged appropriately and supported in their academic development. This continuous, data-driven approach helps us to monitor progress throughout the year and make informed decisions to foster student success.

If you have any questions about the report or your child’s performance, please don't hesitate to ask your child's teacher. We are here to support your child’s academic journey and to ensure they receive the resources they need to succeed.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education!

Have a great weekend!

All the BESt,

Kristen Aune

Grandparent's Day - September 21st Grandparent's Day - September 21st

On September 21st, we will host our Grandparent's Day Lunch! We are excited to welcome grandparents to campus for a special time with their Bothwell child.

The event will be held in our courtyard, where we will have picnic tables available outside, along with a few tables set up inside. We encourage guest to bring picnic blankets to spread out and enjoy lunch together.

Please complete the Grandparents Day Lunch Form for each student who will be participating.

Due to limited space, we ask that families limit attendance to two grandparents/guests per child. We also ask that younger siblings and strollers do not attend this event. We will have several other opportunities throughout the year for younger siblings and additional family members to visit and enjoy time on campus.

We look forward to celebrating our amazing grandparents and creating a special memory with our Bothwell students!
