Our annual Grandparents and Special Friend Mass is fast approaching!

Save the date for Friday, September 19th to join us at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

If you didn't have time to request an invitation to be mailed, be sure to remind your grandparents and special friends, and submit their email on the online form to receive a digital invite! They are more than welcome to attend!

All parents are encouraged to attend our 1st CPTO meeting this Thursday in the MPR at 6:30 pm. It will be a brief 30 minute meeting followed by an optional social downtown afterwards, for those who would like to attend.

As a reminder: any parents that attend earn their child(ren) an out of uniform pass!

Students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade are required to wear their school uniform for picture day.

We will also have our Cross Country and Volleyball photos taken this same day. Information with picture ordering for sports packages was shared with parents of student athletes this week.

Our Kindergarten through 8th grade students will be taking our annual All School Photo on Wednesday, September 24th. Students are asked to wear their grey school t-shirt to school that day.

If your son or daughter is in 4th grade or higher and would like to be an altar server, training sessions will be held on Wednesdays October 1, 8, 15, 22 from 1:45 to 3:15 and Mondays October 6, 13, 20 from 5:15 p.m to 6:45 p.m. You only need to attend one session. We will train only 4 kids per session. You must register to attend a training session. You can register for the class on Realm. Training will be held in the church. A parent will need to fill out a short information sheet to help with scheduling. Parents are encouraged to stay for the training, but it is not mandatory.

One of the amazing aspects of our school is the opportunity for parents to be involved! This is a great way to support our school and benefit our students. We have a wide array of volunteer opportunities, from being a homeroom parent, volunteering at our Book Fair, helping with teacher meals during conferences, and the list goes on.

Please collect your Hy-Vee receipts and drop them off at the school or parish office. These receipts help us earn money for school improvements, but only those dated June 1st 2025 or later will count for the upcoming school year. Thank you for helping us grow and improve—one receipt at a time!

Our next Volunteer Night at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank will be on Thursday, October 2nd, from 6:00–7:30 P.M. If you’d like to join us, please contact Erin Youngblut at erinyoungblut@gmail.com

This is a great opportunity to give back to our community, and it also counts toward service hour requirements for students in grades 5–8. Volunteers of all ages (Kindergarten and up) are welcome!

Fire Prevention Week is October 6th through the 10th. This year's theme is 'Charge into Fire Safety." Students will once again have the opportunity to create grocery bag posters about this years theme. Bags will be going home with students the last week of September, and are due back to school by October 6th. Cedar Falls Fire Rescue will also have an open house on October 8th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and students are welcomed to return their poster to the fire station at that time, or they can return their poster to the school office.

We are in need of coaches for Lego League. If you are interested in coaching 5th-8th graders on a Lego League Challenge team, please contact Melinda Neumann, clayton.melinda@gmail.com, by Monday, September 8. We will not be able to have a team without parent coaches.

This team meets in the fall semester with a competition in early December. Meetings are typically 1.5-2 hours long once a week. Meeting time will be determined based on coach availability. We need a minimum of two parent coaches, with one willing to be the lead coach. It is helpful if at least one parent is comfortable learning basic Lego coding to assist students with programming the robot.

A separate sign up will come out later for the Lego League Explore program for younger grades.

The next school board meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 23rd. Please note this is a change of date from the original calendar.

We are now utilizing a new online bill pay system. EZSchoolPay can be used to pay your lunch balances, Circle of Care fees, preschool fees, etc. You should have received a separate email last week, with instructions on getting your account setup to pay your fees online. Please be aware that we will be discontinuing our use of Revtrak for online payments. If you have that web page bookmarked, make sure to update it to EZSchoolPay.

We’re brewing up the best Trunk-or-Treat ever this year… but we need a little magic to make it happen!
