GREAT THINGS AT MPMS GREAT THINGS AT MPMS

The weather for this week is looking wonderful and we're ready for another great week at MPMS. As part of our commitment to CKH, teachers and students continue to build relationships using greetings at the door and starting each class with Good Things. This is a great way to check in with each student and make sure their needs are being met. Ask your student what good things were shared in classes last week and check our Facebook for daily good things starting this week!

We successfully made it through the bulk of our NWEA testing; some students may spend some time completing theirs this week. Our fall sports are well under way and we're so proud of our athletes for their commitment to their teams and academics. Our choir and band is hitting their stride and we are so excited to see what they have in store for us at their first concerts. Clubs are starting at the middle school, so if your student is looking to participate in something have he or she look into Mino Kinoomaagewin (Good Teaching and Learning) on Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 (information below) or our Ready to Roll Dungeons and Dragons club on Wednesdays until 4:00 (interested students should see Mrs. Olson in Room 103).

Tomorrow we will host Terry Hessbrook and the B#4 Foundation as he shares an important message about mental health to our 8th graders. Parents, please feel free to join us. More information below!

  • Contribute to meaningful programs and initiatives that promote inclusion.

  • Work alongside educators, families, and community members dedicated to creating a welcoming environment.

  • Help shape policies and practices that support student success and well-being.

Meetings are held monthly, and all interested members of the MPPS community are encouraged to apply.

MPMS Accelerated Math Program and MPMS French Students Attendance on Days with an Irregular Schedule

For Elementary Students Attending MPMS

  • These students WILL NOT attend on most days that alter the daily schedule, including delay days, half days, and days where MPMS students start with first hour. One issue is that there may not be a bus available to transport them back to their elementary schools. Another issue on delay days is that they will be finished with their MPMS math class long before their elementary start time.

  • The only exception to this rule will be days where they will be taking their trimester exams. They will indeed attend on exam days, even with the change in schedule.

For MPMS Students Attending MPHS

  • These students WILL NOT attend on delay days, half days, and all other irregular days unless otherwise instructed by their MPHS Math/French teacher.
