From the Senior Leadership Team – Term 3, Week 4

To the TNIS Whanau,

Welcome to the end of Week 4 of Term 3! It is fantastic to see our learners fully engaged in their inquiries, collaboration, and various extracurricular activities across the school.

IB PYP Exhibition: Year 8s Underway

Our Year 8 learners are officially well underway with their IB PYP Exhibition journey. The Exhibition is a significant milestone in our primary/intermediate framework, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their learning, demonstrate independence, and take action on issues that matter to them.

There is an energy across the Year 8 learning spaces as students narrow down their inquiry focus, research deeply, and connect with other learners sharing similar passions and experts from both close to home and around the world. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks as they prepare to present their findings to our community.

Pencil in the dates of the 22nd and 23rd of September, as TNIS will be hosting Exhibition 2026!

Year 7 Community Project Off to a Strong Start

Parallel to the Exhibition, our Year 7 students have had a brilliant start to their Community Project. Over the past few weeks, we have had the pleasure of welcoming a wide range of guest speakers and visitors to the school to share their experiences with the Year 7 cohort. These visits have sparked meaningful conversations around local needs, service, and civic responsibility, helping our learners identify authentic ways they can contribute positively to our wider community.

Our Year 7s will be showcasing their Community project learning on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of September.

Dressing for the Changing Weather

As we navigate the middle of winter, we are experiencing typical Auckland weather: sudden downpours, chilly mornings, and unexpected sun patches. It is vital that our learners are coming to school prepared for all conditions. Please ensure your child leaves home with the appropriate school uniform items to keep them warm and dry, including an official TNIS jacket or fleece.

A gentle reminder regarding uniform standards: footwear must be appropriate for school activities. Socks worn with sandals are strictly not permitted at TNIS. Sandals are designed to be worn without socks; if your child requires warm feet, they should wear black school shoes with correctly coloured socks.

Upcoming Zone Days and Group Photo Days

We have a busy couple of weeks ahead on the sports and events calendar:

  • Zone Days: Good luck to all our athletes competing in the upcoming Gymnastics and Basketball (Girls and Boys) Zone Days. We know you will represent TNIS with pride and excellent sportsmanship.

  • School & Group Photos: We have two dedicated photo days coming up to capture our sports teams, cultural groups, and special committees.

    • 1st of September: Photolife - Cultural, Performance, Service and Leadership Group Photographs

    • 18th September: Photolife - Sports Team Photographs

Further information regarding specific dates, schedules, and ordering details for photos will be sent out via email shortly.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school, staff, and learners.

Ngā mihi nui,

The Senior Leadership Team

TNIS Rough 1
