Principal Message Principal Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Sorry for the shorter message, lots of my time this week went into preparing for our big event on Friday, Spring Tea. It was very well attended. All of our students did amazing. A special thank you to the volunteers, parents and staff that made the event possible.

Earlier this week we had a pancake breakfast from our School Council Volunteers. We also had our picnic in the gym with many parents joining their students for lunch. Some of our classes also recognized earth day, by taking time to do some outside spring cleaning.

Next week, is a quiet week in terms of events, with lots of learning going on in class in our second 5 day week in a row.

Sincerely,

Alan Stoyles

Principal

Spotlight on School Success: Educational Assistants Spotlight on School Success: Educational Assistants

EAs are often the unsung heroes of a school. They provide in class and pull out support for our students to help them meet their educational needs. They are also who are often called upon to fulfil roles last minute when the unexpected happens. At Wildwood we have Mrs. Fehr who in addition to her work with our 2/3 and 3/4 classes runs our breakfast program making sure all of our students have a full belly to learn on. We have Miss Yakimchuk, affectionately referred to as Miss Y, she works in most of our classes throughout the week including our youngest the JK class.. Miss Y is also who often fills in for our JK teacher. This year we added Mrs. Swinkels who works mostly with our 5/6 class but also spends some time in 2/3. Mrs. Swinkles has also been involved in coaching our 4-6 Basketball club, our archery club, and helps to supervise our Bus to Swim event. Our EAs help to make Wildwood School the home it is.
