Whew...a lot cooler
"A change in the weather is sufficient to recreate the world and ourselves." ~Marcel Proust
I am so thankful that this week has been much cooler outside. I am definitely ready for Fall as it's one of my favorite seasons with cool, crisp air and the leaves changing colors. With the weather changing as well as the season it's a good reminder that everything changes at some point and we get to decide how we react to those changes and/or what changes we want to make.
We have our guidance nights coming up this month...I highly encourage you to join me to learn about all that you need to about THS, credits, college pathways, etc. Below is when your student's grade-level guidance night is:
Freshmen (9th) on 9/25 from 5 - 6 pm in the Student Center
Sophomores (10th) on 9/25 from 6 - 7 pm in the Student Center
Thank you to those that attended last night's junior/senior guidance night! It was great to see you all!
My college application workshop was great yesterday as well! I had a few students show up, lock in, and get some of their college applications done and questions answered.
The Spring 2026 application is now open for the Santa Rosa Junior College. If you plan on taking a JC class in the Spring, please fill out the application and dual enrollment form as soon as possible so you will be ready on December 2nd at 7am to register. The classes for Spring aren't out yet, however, so stay tuned for those in early November.
I have started on my Senior Group Meets during advisory to check in with seniors to see how their postsecondary plans are coming along as well as show them how to use CaliforniaColleges.edu. I have also created a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.

College App Worksheet
This comes from a THS Alumni and I would like to continue to share it as a college preparedness tool. There are 23 CSU's (California State Universities), 9 UC's (University of California), many private schools, a wonderful junior college, as well as tons more nationwide. Here is just a sample of what another student shared with me...copy it and make it your own with the schools of your choice.

Mental Health Tip!
Did you know?
Come talk to me about anything, I will talk you through things, listen, come up with strategies to deal with anxiety, etc, and/or send you to some more in depth support that we have on campus this year!
Go ahead and yawn. Studies suggest that yawning helps cool the brain and improves alertness and mental efficiency.
