A Message from the Principal
Bulldog Families, We Have So Much to Celebrate!
What an exciting way to begin the 2026–2027 school year! I am incredibly proud to share that Watkins Middle School earned an 83 on our 2026 Accountability Rating. This is an increase of FIVE points from our previous score of 78!
This accomplishment belongs to our entire Bulldog family. Our students worked hard, our teachers remained committed to providing high-quality instruction, and you our parents and families continued to support and encourage our students every step of the way. Thank you for being our partners in their success.
We were also honored to welcome Superintendent Dr. Killian to Watkins. During his visit, he congratulated our campus on our growth and had an opportunity to visit classrooms and see some of the wonderful things happening at Watkins. We truly appreciated him taking the time to celebrate this milestone with our students and staff.
But Bulldog Parents, 83 is not our finish line! We are proud of our progress, and we know there is even more greatness ahead. This year’s theme says it best:
Celebrate the Success. Chase EXCELLENCE!
As we begin this new school year, we are asking every member of our Bulldog family to join us in that chase. Encourage your child to attend school every day, give their best effort, ask for help when they need it, get involved in campus activities, and take pride in being a Watkins Bulldog.
We did this together and together, we are just getting started!
With Bulldog P.R.I.D.E.,
Andrea Lagard
Principal, Watkins Middle School
FOLLOW THE BULLDOGS ON SOCIAL MEDIA!
There is so much happening at Watkins, and we want our families to see it! Throughout the year, we’ll be sharing glimpses of the great teaching, learning, leadership, and Bulldog PRIDE happening across our campus.
This week, our students were already learning in action! From testing inertia with rubber chicken slingshots in Science to rotating through engaging literacy stations in 6th Grade Reading & Language Arts, our Bulldogs are thinking, collaborating, exploring, and growing.
These are just a few of the moments we get to see every day and we want to share them with YOU!
❤️🐾 Celebrate the Success. Chase EXCELLENCE!

IXL Language Arts and Math
IXL Language Arts and Math is officially up and running! Teachers should now be able to log in and view their class rosters. Please take a few minutes to confirm that your students are listed correctly.
IXL provides personalized, standards-aligned practice that adjusts to each student’s current level. The program will help us:
- Identify individual strengths and learning gaps
- Provide targeted practice based on students’ specific needs
- Reinforce prerequisite and grade-level skills
- Monitor student progress through real-time data
- Differentiate instruction for intervention, on-level, and advanced learners
- Build student confidence through immediate feedback and continued practice
IXL will also support our accelerated instruction efforts in Reading and Math. Teachers can assign targeted skills based on assessment data and provide students with additional practice in the areas where they need the most support. Students can work at their own pace while teachers monitor their progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Please log in, review your rosters, and begin exploring the available skills and resources. We are excited to use IXL to provide purposeful, targeted support and help every Bulldog grow!
Thank you!

Cy-Fair Tipline
Important Update: The CFISD Tipline is Transitioning from P3 Campus to Lightspeed STOPit
At Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, every voice matters in school safety. To strengthen safety across our district and support student well-being, the CFISD Anonymous Tipline is transitioning to Lightspeed STOPit this week. STOPit is a secure, 100% anonymous platform that empowers students, parents, and community members to safely report concerns and help prevent potential threats. This system replaces our previous P3 Campus web portal, ensuring our school safety teams receive and respond to reports quickly and efficiently.
When to Use the Tipline
If you are worried about a situation or notice something unsafe, please share your concern. You can submit an anonymous tip for issues such as:
Bullying, cyberbullying, or online harassment
Threats or weapons at school
Substance abuse (drugs or alcohol)
Mental health concerns or self-harm
All reports go directly to our CFISD school safety teams so the situation can be reviewed and addressed promptly.
What You Need to Know:
It is 100% anonymous: Whether a student has witnessed something concerning or knows someone who may be in danger, they can use STOPit to submit tips anonymously—anytime, anywhere.
Where do tips go? Reports go directly to our CFISD school safety teams so concerns can be reviewed, assessed, and addressed quickly.
New Mobile App Option: In addition to web reporting, students can now use the mobile app. Download the free STOPit App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Built-in Crisis Support: The STOPit app also includes a 24/7 Crisis Text Line connecting students to trained mental health counselors, as well as helpful self-help resources.
