March 2022

During this time of reflection and repentance, I'm grateful to all those who have opened their hearts to new ministries. In our prison ministry Q and A, we were able to share more about this challenging, but rewarding, ministry. At our family service day, we had one new family sign up to adopt a garden bed in our parish garden. We're also adding a few new voices to our Catholic Relief Services advocacy chapter. This Lent, if your heart is being opened to service, please reach out to our parish staff. We can connect you! St. Katharine, pray for us!

All Saints Community Services was invited to participate in the Puyallup School District's Resource Fair on Thursday, March 24. Thanks to our generous parishioners, we were able to contribute food for 50 bags of groceries distributed to families at the resource fair. We were also able to share about our delivery food bank, backpack program, and financial assistance programs.

Stations of the Cross for Marriages and Families

If you would like to pray the stations when the church is not open, you can find them posted around the perimeter of the block. Station 1 starts near the entrance to the church. You can use the QR code on each station or find a reflection that resonates with you. For example, America editors recently published one for Ukraine. The one below was found on For Your Marriage.

"This reflection on the Stations of the Cross encourages all to reflect on Jesus’ passion in the context of family life, whether those families are immediate or extended, near or far, known or unknown. As St. John Paul II told us, the family is the building block of society, and so in this meditation, we pray for all families in light of the Way of the Cross."

Family Service Day

Over 40 people from our parish and school participated in our Family Service Day on March 19. Thanks to their hard work, we were able to clean the gym and room 240, assemble 200 snack packs for New Hope and ASCS, weed and prepare the parish garden for planting, pick up litter, weed flower beds around campus, deep clean the school kitchen, and clean the ELC playground areas. We also had a small team assist at the Puyallup Community Garden. Look for more information about our next Service Day in June.
