While the week didn't start of great (Snow Day!) we have come together to do many things...dressing up as community helpers, and our favorite teachers, working with church buddies to make crafts, donating loose change, celebrating Mass with the Bishop and MSJ, and so much more!

A very important message from Father Bernie! A very important message from Father Bernie!

Welcome to Mass!

We'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Friday Masses at 8:30 AM in Christ the King Church. It's a wonderful experience to see our students and staff pray and sing. We continually remind our students that the Church is sacred space, and that we respect the house of the Lord. As we invite you to do the same, here are some guidelines for Mass attendance:

1. Pray and sing along with us. Use the missalettes in the pews to guide you.

2. When you come into Church, please turn off and put away your cell phone, unless you're taking a picture of your child during Mass.

3. Remember that you are there to pray. Visiting other parents or adults is not for church time.

4. Water bottles only, please. Please keep coffee and other drinks in your car.

5. We do not allow the boys to wear hats in church, we ask the same of you.

Thank you for your attention to these matters and we look forward to seeing you at school Masses!

Peace and blessings, Fr. Bernie Bourgeois

It's here... It's here...

The flu has entered the building...(along with other contagious illnesses!)

At Christ the King School, we take the health and safety of the students (and our families) seriously. With the recent upswing in cases of the flu, I wanted to let you know the precautions that we take to help minimize the spread and impact on CKS. Although we do everything that we can, nothing is foolproof. The best practice is to keep your child home if they are not feeling well.

That being said, we have increased our focus of not only maintaining our cleaning protocols, we are also doing additional disinfection of frequently touched surfaces, including drinking fountains. Teachers and staff regularly (daily at a minimum) disinfect desks, tables, chairs, and other surfaces. We even do door knobs and other areas where students regularly visit, using disinfecting wipes and sprays.

Students are asked to wash their hands regularly, especially if they are sneezing or coughing. Each classroom has hand sanitizer as an additional help, although it does not and should not replace hand washing.

Everyone is recommended to follow these guidelines.

Stay home when you are sick

If your children are sick, keep them home. Students who have a fever must be fever-free without medicine for 24 hours before they can return to school.

Cover your mouth and nose.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Flu and other serious respiratory illnesses, like respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), whooping cough, and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), are spread by cough, sneezing, or unclean hands.

Clean your hands.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. This is often difficult for children to understand but it is something that we stress at school.

Practice other good health habits.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.

While these may not guarantee that you or your child will not get ill, if we all work together to maintain a healthy atmosphere and practices, the risks decrease significantly.

GIRLS ON THE RUN COACHES NEEDED!

Do you want to create positive change in your community? Empower the next generation of bold, confident girls by coaching with Girls on the Run Vermont! Coaches are needed at Christ the King School! With a focus on life skills, goal-setting and physical activity, Girls on the Run Vermont's programs equip girls with the tools to thrive. The research-based lessons and activities help girls build the confidence to boldly share what’s in their hearts and help others use their voices, too. By volunteering to coach a team, you’ll create a supportive space where girls can speak up and use their voices like never before!

Not a runner? Haven’t coached before? No problem! Girls on the Run VT (GOTRVT) provides training, easy to follow lesson plans, supplies and support for a transformational season. The season begins the week of March 16, 2026 and ends with a celebratory 5K in Essex on Saturday, May 30th. Over the 10 week season, teams meet twice weekly for 90 minute sessions to connect, move, learn and have FUN!

Visit gotrvt.org/coach to learn more about coaching or sign up to volunteer. Visit gotrvt.org/programs to learn more about GOTR and to complete the Participant Interest Form. Have further questions? Contact GOTRVT at info@girlsontherunvermont.org or 802-871-5664.
