The Kindergarten students worked hard this week on their letter formation and sight words this week. They also enjoyed their time outside with the cooler temperatures early in the week. Great job kindergarten!

The 2nd graders practicing good hygiene and sanitation using our new hand washing stations after recess this week.

3rd graders are enjoying PE now in the first year to wear the school's official PE uniform.

5th grade this week had their MAP Assessments this week to identify their growth goals for the 1st semester.

The middle school faculty and students are getting into the grove with our new system and all the new technology.

It was a great week for SFCS Athletics! The Cross Country Team placed 2nd overall with Makenna Allen placing 1st and Archie Brown 8th individually. The Volleyball team won their first two away matches this week! Go Wolves!!!

Attached is the updated Cross Country waiver that was sent to us yesterday because our Meet on Tuesday vs Low Country Montessori has been changed to Habersham- 190 Cherokee Farms Road, Beaufort, SC. The start time is 5 pm as usual.

It is extremely important that you print out, sign and return the waiver to me by Monday morning.

If we are missing any waivers, your student-athlete is not permitted to compete on Tuesday.

Our Sunday School Mass will continue for the weekend masses on September 19th and 20th. During these times of social distancing the students will be encouraged to wear their mass uniforms BUT instead of everyone coming to the usual 9:00am mass, students may attend any mass for that weekend. All you need to do is take a picture after mass of your student(s) outside the church in uniform, email it to Mr. Pope and your child will receive a nut card for wearing your uniform on Monday.

Below is the current mass schedule for St. Francis by the Sea Parish. If you belong or attend a mass somewhere other than St. Francis by the Sea then you still may participate. Just take that picture of your student(s) in their mass uniform outside of the church after mass. Thank you!!!

The current Diocesan COVID-19 Guidelines from the Diocese has suspended all field trips for the 1st semester. The decision has been made to rebook the Washington DC trip in hopes that we will be allowed to travel by Spring 2021. The new dates are set for departure on April 29 to return on May 3. The Diocese will make a determination in December in regards to field trips for the 2nd semester.

Worldstrides has offered to extend their Refund Policy until October 1st so you have an opportunity to purchase trip insurance. Please see below for more details on Worldstrides trip insurance as well as their standard cancellation policy.

Full Refund Program/Cancellation Policy:

• The Full Refund Program provides a full refund of all monies paid to WorldStrides, minus the Full Refund Program fee and merchandise purchased, if the participant finds it necessary to cancel for any reason prior to departure. Given our current world situation, families can call the customer service team at 1-800-468-5899 and purchase the full refund program up until October 1st.

• Standard cancellation policy is based on the individual’s decision to cancel and the date’s proximity to the departure date. Participants who are not enrolled in the Full Refund Program may receive a partial refund of their program costs.
