Every day, students will hear about someone who is observed during this time.

Northgade's first graders will visit the Downtown Kalamazoo Public Library on Tuesday, September 23.

All first graders will leave about 9:15 am to head downtown. Please make sure all first graders are on time to catch the bus. Students will spend approximately an hour visiting the branch, enjoying story time and selecting a library book to read.

Once there, students will receive a OneCard. The OneCard was created for KPS students. Read more about the OneCard below.

Those who signed up for the First Day Shoe Fund will receive their shoes this Wednesday, September 24. Look for students to bring a new pair of shoes home.

We would also like to thank Ms. Emma and The Communities in Schools of Kalamazoo for this wonderful gift.

Please be sure to download the PowerSchool App and My Power Hub. Learn how to do that by following the directions attached here.

This is the one-stop location for parents/guardians to access their student's:

• Grades
• Attendance
• Report cards
• Test results

You will continue to use this app throughout your student(s) KPS enrollment, therefore you may want to get acquainted with the app.

If you have a 5th grader, please come into the building and get your student's 5th grade Chromebook and carrying case. All fifth graders should return their current Chromebooks, and have a parent or guardian come into the office to sign for a new Chromebook. This new Chromebook should be carried back and forth to school daily. This is to get students prepared for middle school. Students will have this computer for the next 4 years.

I want to apologize again for the previous miscommunication. If you have already received a new Chromebook and carrying case, please return your old Chromebook. Both Chromebooks are signed out to your student and is therefore responsible for any accidents that may happen to both of them. Therefore, please bring your old Chromebook back to Northglade and get it off of your account.
