Throughout history there have been many notable renaissance thinkers and polymaths. Today, however, students are increasingly encouraged to become specialized and determine their future career paths from an early age. For the “multipotentialite,” this can be a challenge and hinder their desire to explore multiple paths and possibilities. G/T Awareness Week happens the first full week of April every year and was created to increase awareness and encourage support of gifted education in Texas. Through online community discussions and social media posts, parents, educators, and advocates come together to celebrate giftedness.

During the spring semester, 5th grade students will visit their feeder pattern middle schools and begin discussions about course selections for the 25-26 school year. Check out the following online resource for more information about the transition in G/T services from elementary to middle school.

The resources provided below are meant to offer enrichment opportunities for gifted students at home. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to preview the content and determine what is appropriate based on their child’s individual needs and family values.
