🙌 Shout-Out 🙌 🙌 Shout-Out 🙌

Congratulations Alina Pendleton!

Alina art was selected to be showcased in the South Orange Performing Arts Centers Inspired Minds Exhibitions. Here is a little about the piece from Alina's perspective:

For this painting I was going in with the inspiration of Stan Lee to make a comic college of all the Marvel Superheroes. I decided to go with Spider-Man because the detail in his costume has the perfect squares for my college style. The background is inspired by Piet Mondrian, with bold colors also a reference to comic art. The college part is made out of old comics and new comic posters of the whole Marvel Universe, going with my original plan of incorporating all of them in there.

Peer Leaders Peer Leaders

Peer Leaders pushed in and closed out mentoring with an egg hunt, a Q & A from the questions in the eggs, and some games. They taught about the importance of balance: play AND work are equally important.

AP Psychology AP Psychology

AP Psychology is closing out our final unit with Clinical work. We used jelly, bread, and cream cheese, along with time as a stressor, to show how stress impacts whether or not disorders arise in people. The diathesis-stress model suggests that mental disorders arise from the interaction between a pre-existing vulnerability (diathesis) and environmental stressors, rather than solely from one or the other.

CGHS Bocce Club members participated our annual tournament with Verona. Although Verona took home the trophy this year, students had a blast playing Bocce. Don't worry, we will get them next year!

Congratulation's Coach Gogerty Congratulation's Coach Gogerty

We would like to congratulate Coach Gogerty for being named as a coach in the Phil Simms North-South All-Star Football Classic being held on June 9th at Kean University. He is one of only 24 coaches chosen from the 386 football playing high schools in New Jersey. To say it is an honor is truly an understatement! Way to go!
