Message from the Frog Pond
Today I wanted to discuss distractions. Distractions can come from anywhere and anyone. When I was growing up, the older generations complained about kids watching too much T.V. What is the equivalent distraction of 2025? You guessed it, the cell phone. As a cyber student myself, I know how hard it is to ignore that modern appendage when what you are supposed to be studying is not as interesting as scrolling.
Here are some tips: Put it in a different room. Have someone hold it. Schedule yourself some breaks so you have something to look forward to. No matter what, make sure the majority of your focus is spent on your studies. We are quickly moving towards the 4th quarter of the school year. Are you setting yourself up for a strong finish?

Weekly Library Trips
See the letter below and click the link to print out and sign the permission slip:
Dear Cyber Parents/Guardians,
At the Coatesville Cyber Academy, we are always looking for more ways to give our students meaningful learning experiences outside the classroom, and we’re excited to share an opportunity we think they’ll love!
We’d like to take our students on a short WEEKLY walk to the Coatesville Library (501 E Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville, PA 19320)—just down the block from our school. The library offers a great space for reading, research, and quiet study and we are excited to teach our students how to use such a great resource. Each visit will last about an hour and will be fully chaperoned by our teachers.
The days will either be Tuesday or Thursday @ 10am - 11am. We may also wish to take students at random to the library. Please indicate if this is permissible by initialing BOTH lines on the slip below.
Please complete and return the slip below. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

2024-2025 Senior Announcements
If you are supposed to graduate in June 2025 but failed courses in previous years and have NOT made up those credits, you are likely not on track to meet graduation requirements. Please reach out to Ms. Lewis at lewisw@casdschools.org ASAP to discuss your credit situation and how you may still be able to earn your diploma this year. Even if you think you're on track, don't hesitate to contact Ms. Lewis to make sure!
Counselor's Corner
****From Mrs. Lewis****
For anyone who failed courses in the fall semester:
If you earned less that 60% for part A of a core subject (English, Social Studies, Math and Science), you MUST earn greater than 60% in part B in order to pass the course for the year. For example, if you failed ELA 10 with a 40%, you must earn an 80% for part B in order for your average to equal 60% for the year. It's imperative that you are in communication with your teachers about your grades and how best to raise them.
If you failed a fall semester elective, you did not earn credit for that course. You are at risk of being retained in your current grade if you fail too many credits in a year. Please double your efforts in your spring courses to make sure that you don't fall further behind. Please contact Ms. Lewis at lewisw@casdschools.org with any questions!
