The week ends with the Woodstock STEAM festival on Friday, March 13 from 6-8 pm. Come and learn some cool new things and spark wonder in your little explorers! Thank you to everyone who has signed up so far to help bring this event to life. We're still looking for a few more hands on deck so check the link below.

A last plug for volunteers for the PTA Clothing Closet on Monday, March 16! We need 5-6 volunteers in order for kids and families to be able to receive clothing! Sign up now. More details below.

Looking for fun afterschool opportunities for your students? The Spring programs are now posted for your review. From sports and science to theater and art, there is something for everyone!

Spring afterschool program registration opens bright and early—this Friday, March 13 at 7 am.

Join us on Friday, March 13, 6-8 pm, for a fun and engaging evening of hands-on science demos and STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)! Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase.

We need volunteers to donate a baked good, help with set up, or lead a table.

LAST CALL: Monday, March 16th is Woodstock's day to send 5-6 volunteers from 9:30am -1:30pm to the PPS PTA Clothing Center to help kids receive clothing and to help sort donations so there are lots of choices forkids to see. We are looking for 5-6 volunteers for this rewarding volunteer opportunity. Volunteers can be parents, grandparents or community members.

If volunteers don't go, then students and families can't shop! Please consider volunteering, even if it is just for a few hours!

PPS has started the official hiring process that you can learn about HERE. Last summer, current principal Heidi Earle was appointed as “interim” and she is a candidate for the permanent position at Woodstock with nearly 20 years of experience as an instructional leader and administrator across diverse PPS settings.

Keep in mind the next leader of Woodstock will need to navigate tough budget cuts and future school consolidation. Do you have a strong opinion who that leader should be? Does your student have a heart-warming story to share? We encourage families to share specific examples of positive collaboration from this school year. Here’s how:

2. Apply to serve on the Community/Staff Candidate Review Panel HERE

This year, the Woodstock Student Talent Show will accept video submissions, which will be presented in a one‑night‑only community viewing on Friday, April 10 at 6 pm. There will be no live performances—instead, Woodstock families and friends are invited to gather in the cafetorium, watch the videos together, and celebrate our talented performers in the audience.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 3.

Do you have a creative student? Would they like to see their art on the cover of the 2025-2026 yearbook? Students can design and submit their own cover designs until Friday, March 20!

You can also send in photos for the yearbook and order your student's yearbook today.

Add some color to your yard or get started on your veggie garden - the fifth annual spring plant sale is officially on!

The Woodstock Elementary School garden committee is selling
locally grown plant packages selected to thrive in small, urban
gardens. All proceeds will be used to support our garden education program.

Plants are pre-order only and will be available for pick up on Friday, May 9 - just in time for Mother's Day!

Join the Woodstock PTA for an afternoon of excitement at the Portland Timbers match on Saturday, April 11 at 1:30 pm versus LAFC! It's a wonderful opportunity for the families of the school to come together for an unforgettable experience in the world of professional soccer. Select kids will be chosen to participate and watch the Timbers warmup up on the sidelines before the match. Tickets are limited so purchase your tickets today!

As part of the Oregon Metro’s work supporting Bike Buses and Walking School Buses, we are offering a monthly lunchtime webinar series to support leaders, planners, and educators working to make it safer and more joyful for students to walk and bike to school. The series will be held once a month on the first Wednesday of the month at 12pm from March - June 2026, and will focus on practical, real world topics including quick build infrastructure, group ride safety and de escalation, activation and incentive based programming, and honest reflections from Bike Bus and Walking School Bus leaders at different stages of their journey.
