Hello December!

I hope your families had a wonderful Thanksgivign break. It was nice to catch our breath and spend quality time with family & friends.

December is a busy month and I will do my best to outline the events in the Newsletters about things taking place. Please read through the weekly newsletters and watch for texts, emails and social media alerts!

On November 21st, our community was awarded an amazing gift! The Rhode Islander Shriners presented the Westbay Community Action's Warwick Public Schools Backpack Pantry, the brain child of our very own Cameron Kadek, with a $15,000 donation. This donation will continue for the next 5 years.This program is the food assistance program supporting students and families in our 5 Title 1 schools.

iReady Success

First thing first! Norwood kicked off iReady & Attendance incentives on November 3rd and boy did our students rise to the occassion.

107 of 192 (56%) participating students made the goal of 6 Math & Reading lessons for the month!

Attendance Success

226 of 251 students have attended school 90% or more of the school year.

We will be celebrating Shining Attentance Heroes - students who have been absent 1 or 0 times in November.
We are also celebrating Apprentice Knights - those that have shown growth this month, moving away from chronically absent status!

Starting December 1st students will be receiving Knight Bucks as an incentive for meeting iReady Goals (6 Math & 6 Reading Lessons) and Attendance Goals each month. They will be able to spend their bucks or save them for additional larger ticket items in the future.

School Store ended on Friday, Nov 21st.

One-Way Traffic

Thank you for those following the traffic pattern! It is working so much better and we are all safer for it! 😇

ONE-WAY Signs are now up!

Please make sure to keep one-way traffic flowing at morning dropoff and afternoon pick up! Enter from Norwood Ave - Exit on Pierce.

Drop off Lane - make sure to stay in line. There should NOT BE cars passing on the left.

DECREASE!!!

Congratulations to everyone who's coming to school! Norwood has seen a decrease in our Chronic Absent Rate. The Chronic Absent Rate dropped 5% this week! WOOHOOOOOOOO!!! 🥳🎉🥳

We have also seen our efforts move us up on the District Leadership Board!
