Get ready for the Shady Grove Showdown on November 5th from 5:30-8:30 PM at WHS Stadium. ALL students of ALL grades are invited for a fun night! You can purchase tickets ahead of time on Membership Toolkit or pay cash at the door.

The Showdown is a highlight of the year for our 5th graders as they take on the teachers in a kickball game at the high school. While younger students will enjoy watching the game, they also have a great opportunity to participate by running the bases between innings.

Running of the Bases will take place after each inning.

Inning 1 - Kindergarten and First Grade

Inning 2 - Second Grade

Inning 3 - Third Grade

Inning 4 - Fourth Grade

We are looking for volunteers to help line up students during their grade's turn to run the bases. Future classes will do the same for your children when they reach 5th grade, so any time you can lend to help out would be greatly appreciated.

Are you or a family member a US Armed Forces Veteran? Join us on Wednesday, November 11th for our annual Veterans Day celebration honoring those who served. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and other family members are welcome. Please RSVP by November 4th. Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Parent volunteers are needed to assist the garden coordinator in managing the classes when they visit for their 30 minute slot. Here is the sign up link for this fall. Volunteer for as many classes as you would like!

Committees

• Family Fun Night - Plan evening event for all families, such as Bingo or comedy show in April
• Art Committee - Help the art teachers mount artwork throughout the year and help set up/clean up the Art Show in May
• Parents Night Out - Plan Trivia Night with raffle baskets in February
• Garden Committee - Work with the chair to help classes in the garden 1-2 mornings per month in the Fall and Spring.
• Book Fair Committee - Help the chair organize and set-up Fall and Spring book fairs with Scholastic
• Teacher Appreciation Committee - Help support in-school opportunities to give thanks to our teachers, such as lunch or small gifts throughout the year and teacher appreciation week in May
• Holiday Shop - Help the chair work with holiday gift company to create shopping opportunity for students during December
• 4th/5th Grade Talent Show - Help the chair plan evening event, including in-school rehearsals in January
• Buddy Breakfast - Help the chair plan before-school breakfast for families in February

Yearbooks - All 5th graders will receive a FREE yearbook, complimentary of the 5th grade committee. This cannot be customized.

Showdown - One of everyone's favorite nights is right around the corner! We need your help to make it a successful event. The biggest proceeds of the night come from the raffles and the concession stand and we would love volunteers supporting both.

SGE will be partnering with WeCare, an Ambler community-based non-profit organization that helps families connect to food resources.

WeCare is fueled by the passion of its founders Eva O'Brien, Kelly Evans, Lauren Kellock, and Sue Kauffman DePuyt.

WeCare's mission is to build a supportive community for food-insecure Ambler families, creating connections and providing direct access to essential resources. WeCare is currently assisting 21 families (including 58 children) with bi-weekly food distribution and resource newsletters during the school year, and in the summer of 2024, they distributed 2,708 nutritious snack bags, and organized activities for over 400 children. WeCare is aligned with the non-profit organization, Family Promise Montco, PA. Sign up to tell WeCare you can help cover costs.
