Hello Elm Street School Families and Friends,

We squeezed in a whole lot of learning, engagement, and fun this week at the Nest. Our Kindergarteners had a fantastic trip to the Southwick Zoo, students in 3rd grade worked hard on their Tiny House projects, the Spring Concert Series started off with amazing performances from our grade 1 and kindergarten students, our 5th graders were out weeding and watering our garden beds, more students finished their ST Math journeys, and so much more!

Our Elm Student Council is organizing a K-5 Talent Show. The plan is for the show to be on Monday June 10th from 6:00 - 8:00p in the Elm Cafetorium.

Please see the flyer below for more information and to sign up to participate. Acts for the Talent Show should be no more than 2-3 minutes. If we have an overwhelming number of interested groups/individuals we may hold an audition to choose participants for the final show.

Due to traffic concerns, guests for the 9:00am concerts should not arrive until 8:50am. Guests for the 9:40am concerts should not arrive until 9:30am. Please wait outside the main lobby entrance until directed to enter the building.

It is also important for the safety of our school that ALL guests arrive through the main Elm entrance and leave through the bus loop door. No one will be admitted through the bus loop or pre-school playground entrance and no one will be permitted to walk back through the building to the lobby following the performances.

Performances are approximately 20 minutes and will take place in the cafeteria.

The remaining concerts will be held during the school day, on the following dates:

Thursday, May 23rd

Grade 2 - 9:00 am

Grade 3 - 9:40 am

Thursday, May 30th

Grade 4 - 9:00 am

Grade 5 - 9:40 am

Our Student Council has partnered with the Run House here in Walpole to sell Elm Street School and Walpole gear. 10% of sales from our online shop will be donated to the Walpole Council on Aging. Visit our online shop here: https://therunhouse.com/collections/elm-street-school

The WPS Summer Learning Program enrollment form is now open to families. The form in the link below is to enroll your current K-5 student(s) in the program. Please note: you will need to complete a separate form for each child you are enrolling. Be sure to pay attention when entering your student’s grade level and school. All enrollment forms must be completed by Tuesday, May 29th. Due to high demand and limited staffing, some grades and sessions may be limited on a first come first serve basis. As always, if there are any questions please do not hesitate to contact us by using the email provided below.

Registration is now open for the 51st Annual Walpole Labor Day Road Race! Don’t miss this wonderful Walpole tradition. Sign-up now for the 5K, 10K, or Youth Mile. All proceeds support the 200+ athletes in the Walpole High School Cross Country / Track & Field Program. Each race participant will receive a finisher’s medal.
