Congrats 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team

The Lake Denoon 8th grade girls basketball team won the Jr. SEC tournament championship Wednesday night defeating previously undefeated Oak Creek West, 50-36. Every girl contributed to the team's success. They finished the season with a 12-1 record and averaged over 50 points per game.

Thanks for all the hard work and effort put in by this team. The girls were such good teammates to each other and that helped fuel the success. Congrats on a super successful season!!

Bus Safety & Traffic Laws

As we continue through the school year, student safety remains our highest priority - and we need your help to keep our kids safe at bus stops across our community.

We are issuing an urgent reminder regarding state traffic laws around school buses:

  • Yellow Flashing Lights: When a school bus activates yellow flashing lights, it indicates the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. Drivers are required by law to slow down and prepare to stop.

  • Red Flashing Lights & Extended Stop Arm: When the red lights are flashing and the stop sign is extended, traffic in both directions (unless separated by a physical median) must come to a complete stop. You must remain stopped until the red lights turn off and the stop arm retracts.

Passing a stopped school bus is not only extremely dangerous to our students, but it is also illegal.

Please be aware that our drivers actively document drivers who bypass flashing lights, and our local Police Department is aggressively following up on these reports. Violations will be reported and investigated. Violators may receive law enforcement visits and costly citations.

Please give yourself extra time during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up hours, stay alert, and eliminate distractions while driving. Let’s work together to make sure every child gets to and from school safely.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to student safety.

Battle of the Bills

This message comes from our 2026-27 NJHS Chapter. We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming Battle of the Bills Fundraiser, which will run from November 2nd through November 19th!

This year, all proceeds will go to St. Jude, an organization dedicated to providing money donations for cancer research and families affected by it. To participate, simply donate your spare change—bills or coins—to the Ziploc bag in your homeroom during passing time or resource.

The homeroom in each grade that raises the most money will win a prize of a themed basket!

Thank you for your generosity and support in helping us raise money for cancer research and families affected by it!

Chromebook Reminders

Chromebooks should be brought to school fully charged daily. There is a limited supply of loaners for students whose devices are under repair. In the event that a student's Chromebook is left at home or brought to school uncharged, a loaner may be available for his/her use during the school day; however, repeated incidents or violations may result in loss of privileges. If your student travels between multiple households, it may be beneficial to purchase a second charger. They can be purchased from the Library Media Center.

School Medication Policy

As a reminder, per our district policy (Administration of Medications ag5330), if your child requires prescription medication during school hours, please follow our school medication policy:

  • A parent or guardian must bring all medications directly to the school health office or staff. Students are not allowed to transport medications to or from school themselves.

  • All medications must be in original, pharmacy labeled containers

  • Each medication requires a signed doctor’s order before we can administer it.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!
