Costume Guidelines
Students who choose to dress up for Costume Day on October 23rd should wear costumes that do not interfere with their ability to work in the classroom setting. The costumes should be worn over their street clothes, so students can easily change out of their costumes. Please see more information below:
The costume parade will begin during the usual Friday morning assembly time. Parents are welcome to come for the parade.
Costume Guidelines
If your child’s costume has a fake weapon or any other prop that must be carried in the hand, please leave this part at home, as this type of prop is not allowed at school.
Please avoid costumes that require masks, extravagant make-up, or sprayed hair.
Costumes are not allowed to have dangerous objects (e.g., toy swords, toy guns, chains, skates, or spray cans).
Students should wear school clothes under the costume.
Costumes should not be too scary (so that our younger students are not frightened)
No weapon, blood, or gore may be part of the costumes.
Costumes should be of appropriate length (not too short, too tight, or see-through).
Costumes should not include things on the hands or face (e.g., masks) that interfere with writing or sight.
Students should plan to wear shoes that will be safe for outdoor recess and PE activities.
Costumes should be tasteful, modest, and appropriate for a school environment and follow the basic guidelines of school dress code standards.
We thank you in advance for helping your child follow the rules about costumes. We know that the children look forward to showing off their costumes safely so that no little ones are scared.
A Message from Our Principal
Dear Farnham Families,
Tomorrow is our annual Pumpkin Walk, and the excitement on campus is everywhere! This is one of my favorite traditions of the year, a chance for our whole Farnham community to come together, celebrate, and simply have fun with one another. I can’t wait to see all of our Falcons and families there.
As we enjoy the festivities, let’s remember to bring our Three Personal Standards along with us: Solve Problems, Make Good Decisions, and Show Respect. Whether we’re taking turns, walking safely, or cheering on our friends’ costumes, these standards help make the Pumpkin Walk a joyful experience for everyone.
Events like this one only run smoothly with many helping hands. If you haven’t yet, please sign up for a volunteer hour. Even one hour makes a big difference! Pumpkin Walk Sign-up
A heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers who have been working behind the scenes to make the Pumpkin Walk possible. A special shout-out goes to our Fourth Grade Parents, who have transformed our library into a Haunted House! Your creativity and hard work are truly something to see, and our students are in for a spooky treat.
While you’re on campus, please take a moment to stop by the office gate and enjoy our Día de Los Muertos Ofrenda. It is absolutely gorgeous, and a beautiful way to honor and remember loved ones. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this meaningful display.
We look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow!
Be well,
Amy
P.S. Don't forget to scroll to the end to see pictures of our Falcons!

CEF Volunteer Support Fund
Open the Door to More Volunteers
Volunteers make our schools stronger. They support classrooms, field trips, student activities, and school programs - and students benefit when parents and community members can be involved.
The new volunteer clearance process includes a $77 fingerprinting cost, which can be a barrier for some families.
Help Remove the Barrier
Cambrian Educational Foundation (CEF) has launched the Volunteer Support Fund with an initial $3,000 investment to help provide financial assistance for required fingerprinting.
Your donation can help multiply that impact by helping more parents and community members become cleared volunteers.
To direct your donation to this fund, visit www.cambrianef.org/giving.
Under "Please direct my support to:" select "Volunteer Support Fund" from the dropdown menu.

If your child will be absent or tardy, please call the automated 24 hour attendance line before the school day begins. Absences not cleared will be recorded as a truancy. Farnham's 24 hour automated attendance line is 408-377-3321 EXT 4102.
Any questions, please contact the Health/Attendance Clerk, Renee Gundersen 408-377-3321 EXT 4104. Remember to always include her in any email( gundersenr@cambriansd.com) regarding absences or tardies.
Avoid Tardies
Being on time to school is a great way to start the day (students do not like walking into class late). Please avoid tardies at all costs. Gates open at 8:05 am, and close (and lock) at 8:15 am when the instructional day begins. After 8:15 am, everyone must check in through the school office, and students will walk themselves to class.
