Morning Worship and Devotion
Morning Worship and Devotion
A favorite and very important start to the school day at CCS is taking time to praise the Lord by singing a song of worship and by listening to a morning devotion led by Mr. Yearwood and faculty members. Below are a few of the scriptures used in this week's devotions.
- Matthew 22:35-40
- Philippians 4:6-7
- Romans 12:12
- Romans 13:8-10
- 1 John 3:23
Weekly Chapel Services
Did you know that every student at CCS participates in a weekly chapel service?
All students, Preschool through Seniors not only attend morning devotion, but also a weekly service. This service looks a little different at each grade level. Age appropriate lessons are taught each week by local ministry guests and teachers. During chapel students and staff have an extended time of worship, prayer, and bible teaching.
This Week's PK-K Grade Chapel
Preschool and Kindergarten students learned this week about how much God loves them from Mrs. Kayla Mitchell.
This Week's 1st-3rd Grade Chapel
1st through 3rd grade had a great chapel service this week with some sweet singing and a special lesson led by Mrs. Rice.
This Week's 4th-6th Grade Chapel

This Week's 7th-12th Grade Chapel

Looking Back on a Great Week
4th Grade Short Stories
4th grade students have been reading Rip Van Winkle and Legend of Sleepy Hollow. They have loved both stories so far!!
Preschool Lessons
This week in Pre-K students learned that God created us and how we can use our bodies to glorify Him with listening ears, kind words, and helpful hands. They also explored the letters C and D, and celebrated Max’s birthday while learning why birthdays are so special!
Watching the Concrete Truck
Kindergarten students had the best time watching the BCS concrete truck pour a new sidewalk! This was a dream come true for some curious 5 year olds.
THANK YOU to BCS Concrete, Mr. Couch, Mr. Brewer, and Mr. Yearwood for making this project possible. Students entering and exiting the basement door can now stay on the sidewalk and underneath the canopy as they walk back and forth.
Other campus projects this week included yard maintenance by Mr. Brooks and Mr. Yearwood, Sr. (aka Papaw James) and deep cleaning by Mrs. Brooks.
Thank you all!
Special Guest Song Leader
Both Lower and Upper School students enjoyed singing worship songs led by a special guest from 7th Street Baptist Church, Youth Pastor Matt Vinson.
Still Life Artwork
High school art students spent some time practicing shadows, shading, shapes, and perspectives with a still life exercise.
Student Led Devotion Time
Each Wednesday at the Upper School includes student-led devotion time. Thank you, Sawyer Owens for kicking off the year for us! Students may sign up with Mrs. Yearwood in the office.
Prepping for Lessons
We caught our science teachers running through a lesson themselves during their planning time as they were getting ready for next week's science labs. Miss Wright teaches our high school and dual enrollment sciences. Mrs. Eady teaches our middle school sciences.
Outside Playtime
It's hot outside, but the kids sure do enjoy a little time in the sun each day! PE classes with Coach Rowell and Coach Nikki always include some fun activities that help students exercise, stay healthy, and learn to work with others.
Next week we are looking forward to some cooler weather!
Event Information
