WEEKLY HAWK
September 15-19, 2025
Message from Mrs. Lloyd
Hello Homestead Community,
We had a fun week here at Homestead. We have been announcing winners of our top-earners from Dash and they have had special lunches delivered (thanks PTCO for all of your Chick-Fil-A and McDonald's runs). This coming week we will have one final Dash celebration and prize assembly on Thursday.
Our PreK program has grown in leaps and bounds this year - you all need to know that our 3's and 4's are rocking it! They are working hard on family trees and mini-me's. They are learning all about their feelings using "A Little SPOT" books!
On Thursday, we had a special visit from the Cherry Creek spirit bus! It was a fun opportunity to get together and show all of our current Hawks what it will be like as a future Bruin!
In light of the recent tragedy at Evergreen, our hearts are with their school community. Moments like this remind us how precious our children are and how important it is to ensure they are safe at school each day. At Homestead, the safety of our students is always our highest priority. Our school safety team met this week to review our procedures and strengthen our practices so we can continue to provide a secure and caring environment for every child. Please know that if you ever see or hear anything that needs our attention, we want you to reach out—we are partners in keeping our school community safe.
Take care,
Katie

Wednesday's Monthly Staff Snacks
We are excited to express our gratitude for staff this year with monthly snacks in the lounge and we need your help! Once a month, on a Wednesday, we set up some fun treats in the lounge for them to munch on throughout their day. Each month has a different theme and we need volunteers to provide food that goes with that theme. Items can be taken to the teacher's lounge when you drop off in the morning. We will provide the decor and set it all up! Since we are planning for the whole school year, be sure and add it to your calendar! Thanks in advance for your help!

ATTENTION: All Volunteers at Homestead
Colorado legislation has prompted greater need to screen and document volunteers in our schools. As of January 2022, we began asking every volunteer to complete a brief application to support activities in CCSD schools.
If you are currently volunteering or plan to volunteer in the future, please complete the CCSD online volunteer form. To access the form, click on the following link: https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NzU0OmVuLVVT or scan the QR code. It should only take a few minutes to complete and you will only need to complete this form once a year to meet the requirements to volunteer in all CCSD buildings.
Please note: if you completed this application more than one year ago, it is time to do it again!
The safety and security of our students and staff remains our top priority. Every person entering our buildings must have a badge printed from our Raptor system or a District ID.
We want to thank you in advance for your support of our schools and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Homestead main office at 720.554.3700.
