When students arrive on the first day of school, they will go to the playground to meet their teacher. Each grade level will have a designated area for students to gather. There will be signs to mark the arrival areas for each grade level. We have assigned a color to each grade level:

  • Kindergarten - Red
  • 1st Grade - Orange
  • 2nd Grade - Yellow
  • 3rd Grade - Green

Staff and teachers will be on hand to help students find their class. Parents may also accompany their child to the playground and help them find their designated area. Please make sure your child is wearing their wristband. This will allow us to quickly assist students in finding their teacher.

Why Does Attendance Matter? Why Does Attendance Matter?

Attending school regularly is essential to students gaining the academic, social and emotional skills they need to thrive. Chronic absences, no matter its cause, has real life consequences for students, families and society as a whole. Research shows starting as early as preschool and kindergarten, chronic absence—missing 10% of the academic year—can leave third graders unable to read proficiently, sixth graders struggling with coursework and high school students off track for graduation. Our goal is that EVERY STUDENT'S ATTENDANCE IS 90% OR ABOVE! Help us achieve that goal by making sure your child rarely misses school.
