BACK TO SCHOOL AT SPRINGTON LAKE: THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
SEPTEMBER 5, 2025
Hello Spartan Families!
Our first week back at Springton Lake Middle School was a success! Students are settling into routines, exploring schedules, and connecting with teachers. A little tiredness is normal at the start of a new school year.
This Week:
- Safety Drill: Students followed expectations for a safe and orderly evacuation.
- Eagles Spirit Day: Our school turned a sea of green as students and staff showed their spirit.
- PBIS & Spartan Bucks: Reviewing expectations and celebrating positive behaviors.
Coming Up:
- Back to School Night: Tuesday, September 9 at 6:00 PM – An evening full of information, connection, and school community.
- Parent & Student Sports Meetings: Tuesday and Wednesday. See below for complete details.
Reminders:
- Check your email for the weekly newsletter every Friday.
- Make sure your email is current in the Home Access Center (HAC).
We look forward to seeing our families at Back-to-School Night!

Important Reminder: Back-to-School Night is usually very well attended. To help everyone enjoy the evening, we encourage you to arrive early and carpool if possible, as parking on campus is limited. Security officers will be available to assist with parking and ensure a smooth arrival.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing an exciting evening together!
ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
We’re excited to welcome our students each morning starting at 7:40 AM when our doors open! For safety, all drop-off and pick-up should be curbside only in the lane in front of the building. Please avoid the parking lot.
Please pull forward as far as possible and follow staff directions for safety. Once stopped along the sidewalk, students should be ready to exit. The same process will be used for afternoon pick-up.
In the morning, students will head to:
-
6th grade → Cafeteria
-
7th & 8th grade → Auditorium
Students should be in first-period class by 7:55 AM.
Thank you for helping us make arrival and dismissal safe and smooth for all Spartans!
SCHOOL MEALS
The cost for lunch will be $3.95, and additional a la carte snack items will be available for purchase. All Parents/Guardians who wish to receive free and reduced lunch benefits and qualify are encouraged to complete the application available on the district website.
Parents/Guardians may load money on their students accounts by using MySchoolBucks. Parents/Guardians with an account from the previous school year do not need to create another account. Additionally, students can bring in cash or checks to be deposited into their meal accounts. To reduce the handling of cash, we will not provide change; any extra money will remain in the student’s account for future use.
What's for lunch? Take a look at the menu!
Breakfast will be available at no cost for the 2025-2026 school year. Students may select breakfast at the cart in the Main Lobby each morning upon their arrival to the building.
During Back to School Night on Tuesday, 9/9, parents are welcome to stop by the cafeteria to add funds to their child’s account.
STUDENT ATTENDANCE
Regular school attendance is essential for success in school and contributes to the development of good work habits, a sense of responsibility, and self-discipline.
Call our Absentee Voicemail Hotline (610-627-6500, ext. 2) each day the student is absent. Absence is the non-attendance of a student on those days in which school is in session.
- In addition to the telephone call, a written note indicating the reason for the absence must be submitted upon the student’s return to school.
- A note containing parent/guardian’s signature may be scanned/emailed to the Main Office or a hard copy may be submitted to the Main Office.
- Parents/guardians may also utilize the function on the school’s website to submit an electronic excuse note FORM.
All families will continue to receive an automated telephone call whenever a student is marked absent in homeroom. The call will be sent regardless if you have called the attendance hotline. This is an enhanced safety procedure that we are pleased to have available.

CELL PHONES & ELECTRONIC DEVICES
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
