NSCAS State Test Results
Parents/Guardians,
You are receiving a copy of your son/daughter’s NSCAS state test results administered in Spring 2021 today. NSCAS stands for Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System. The NSCAS state tests are intended to provide statewide comparability of Nebraska students who are in grades 3 through 8 and 11. It is a part of the mandated testing required by state and federal guidelines.
The results provide one snap-shot of your child’s performance on the NSCAS tests and are reported using a scale score that indicates your child’s achievement level. Students performing at the On Track and College and Career Ready Benchmark are considered proficient. Additionally, students scoring at these levels are meeting or exceeding expectations and are likely to be ready for success at the next grade level. It is important to note that comparing results to past results should be done cautiously because of the learning disruptions caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
As no single test score can tell the full story about a student, it is important to use a variety of measures to look at the progress your child has made. Your son/daughter’s teacher is a valuable source of information and uses daily observations along with classroom assessments to develop an instructional plan to promote your child’s growth. The Omaha Public Schools values your participation in your child’s educational experience. After reviewing your child’s NSCAS reports, please let us know if you have questions.

Padres/Tutores,
