Principal's Priorities: Sharing Thanks and Congratulations!
Celebrations!
I want to congratulate and thank our students and their families for their tremendous efforts and support of this year's Jog for Jefferson! We exceeded our goal of raising $30,000, which not only made for a thrilling celebration but also means that the PTO will be able to continue supporting the many activities and special programs here at Jefferson. Included in this edition of the Jefferson Journal are pictures from our Jog for Jefferson celebration and highlights from the many accomplishments celebrated.
Thank you again for your amazing support of our students!

Last year's event was well attended, and we plan to expand the program this year.

Counselor's Corner- Siblings!
Mrs. Haringa - School Counselor
Having a sibling can be a joy and can also be very challenging at times. Here are some ideas of phrases you can use when your children are fighting with each other:
- "I won't let you hurt each other. It's my job to keep everyone safe and that includes the words we use."
- "It's my job to keep everyone safe and right now that means separating you two. I will check on you after I bring your sister to her safe place."
- "I know something really must be bothering you to say that to your brother. I also know you are a good kid and can figure out another way to say what you mean."
- "Being siblings can be hard. I am here to listen to your feelings about that."
- "Whoa! I can hear/see that there are a lot of big feelings here. Let's all take a couple deep breaths."
