The Weekly Highlander
Volume #25
A Message from the Principal
Dear Highlander Families:
We have many activities for our families and students next week. If your student rides an e-bike or e-scooter and they have not attended the safety class they need to attend the next one on Thursday, March 13th at 5 pm at Pioneer Middle School. The CHOC book drive for cancer patients concludes on Friday. Please see the article and book wish list found in this newsletter. The first-period class with the most books will win a class activity and donut party.
If your student is an 8th grader and will be enrolled at Foothill in the fall, your family should attend the Foothill Showcase Night this Thursday, March 13th. The event will start at 5 pm, and students and their parents are encouraged to come to campus for a tour and to learn more about the electives and course offerings available for students at Foothill. It will be a night to learn about Foothill and meet the wonderful staff who will work with your students in high school.
Mark your calendar for the Hewes Celebration of Learning, also known as Open House, that will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, from 6 pm - 7 pm. This will be an opportunity for parents to come to campus and see all of the exciting things your students have been learning this year.
The PTA-sponsored International Week has been postponed; new dates for lunchtime activities will be shared soon! Please stay connected to Hewes by checking our website and following us on Instagram @heweshighlanders for the latest information and news.
