Dear World Class Parents/Guardians,

As we begin the final week of March, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each of you for your incredible support over the past month during the HORNET HUSTLE. If you have not had a chance to donate yet, there is still time. Donate HERE. and currently the SPRING Online Auction givebutter.com/HESSpring2025 Your dedication continues to make a lasting and positive impact on our school community, and we are truly grateful for everything you do to help us succeed.

Thank you for your relentless commitment to our school’s success. We are counting down to the final week for parents to complete the Georgia School Climate Survey (GSCS) if you have not already:

This survey is critical in shaping our school’s CCRPI rating, which directly impacts funding, resources, and the overall success of our students. This statewide, anonymous survey identifies key factors that influence student achievement and school climate.

At Hawthorne ES, we believe in a strong partnership between home and school, in order to provide the best opportunity for student success. Starting on Monday, March 24th, we will engage in Parent-Teacher Conferences. We encourage parents and guardians to come meet with your child's teachers to help provide the best support for the student. Please contact your child's teacher to schedule a time to meet.

Monday, March 24 - 5th Grade Parent Teacher Conferences

Tuesday, March 25 - 4th Grade Parent Teacher Conferences

Wednesday, March 26 - 3rd Grade Parent Teacher Conferences

Friday, March 28- 1st Grade Parent Teacher Conferences

Monday, March 31- KK Grade Parent Teacher Conferences

Tuesday, April 1- 2nd Grade Parent Teacher Conferences

We are incredibly grateful to all the parents and families who attended Hawthorne’s GOT Talent on Friday! It was truly inspiring to see our students take the stage with confidence, showcasing their talents and creativity. Moments like these remind us how important it is to nurture not only academic growth but also a love for the fine arts.

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for hosting a general meeting, providing important updates, and facilitating a concession stand for our talent show attendees. Your dedication and support help create enriching experiences for our students, and we appreciate all that you do! Together, we make Hawthorne a place where every student shines! ✨

A big congratulations to our 2nd Grade Team, named Team of the Month! Well done!

A round of applause for our basketball teams for an awesome season! Huge thanks to our coaches, and to everyone who came out to cheer on our students.

Our Reading Challenge is off to an amazing start! Our students have already logged over 50,000 minutes of reading. These programs are vital to our children’s success, and your continued involvement is key to their success.

As we continue to move forward, I want to emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful campus. Please remind your children that we are committed to providing excellent opportunities, but this can only be done when positive behavior is upheld at all times. We've made great strides, but we must stay vigilant—especially during carpool hours. Kindly follow staff instructions during AM and PM carpool to ensure everyone’s safety.

Lastly, I want to highlight the crucial role of consistent student attendance in academic success. We are committed to ensuring that every child arrives on time and attends school regularly. Our goal this year is for no student to miss more than 18 days of school. We’re aiming for a 95% attendance rate this year—up from 93% last year—and your support is key to making this happen. Consistent attendance is the foundation of providing the best education possible for every student.

Once again, thank you for your support. It’s an honor to partner with each of you in educating and nurturing your children. Let’s keep up the fantastic work and continue this momentum forward!

Let’s make this week count—on purpose as we continue to Go for G.O.L.D - Growing Our Learners Daily!

Proud to Serve,

-Principal Henley
