Thank you, Veterans!
“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.”
— Harry Truman
It was definitely different having a Tuesday off this year, and we all felt the weirdness of the week, I am sure. However, that doesn't stop me from being grateful to those that have served and are currently serving! I am thankful for those that believe enough and take enough pride in our country to serve selflessly. I challenge you all to think about things that you are thankful for, it really helps set the mindset to a positive one.
I am completing my Junior Small Group Meets during Advisory this month. I have explained to them that now is the time to start creating that college list on CaliforniaColleges.edu and use it to research colleges that have their major. Then in January, I suggest looking at the Common App Essay as well as the UC Personal Insight Questions to create first drafts to lighten the load over the summer and next fall. If you are unsure of what major you want to study in college try one of the assessments in Californiacolleges.edu either the skills or interest profiler.
Seniors will need to not have any failing grades and have ALL of their community service hours done to be eligible for Disney Grad Night.
College applications are a work in progress, so make sure you spend time on those to make sure that you can submit them on time. FAFSA is open and needs to be submitted for graduating students as soon as possible. There are Cash 4 College nights held virtually and in person all over the county if you need assistance.
The Spring 2026 application is now open for the Santa Rosa Junior College. If you plan on taking a JC class in the Spring, please fill out the application and dual enrollment form as soon as possible so you will be ready on December 2nd at 7am to register. The classes for Spring are out!!
I have also created a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.
Sonoma County STEAM Showcase
Let me know if you are interested...I have submitted and intent to participate form already.
Please join us for the 2026 Sonoma County STEAM Showcase! The STEAM Showcase will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. The theme for this year is "Wellness!" This free event, open to all students TK-12th grade in the county, invites students to show projects incorporating two or more areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). During the full day Showcase, students will present their projects and engage in hands-on STEAM activities and challenges. Students may enter the showcase as individuals or groups, which can be as large as a whole class. Student projects will be evaluated using the rubric linked HERE.

Mental Health Tip!
Did you know?
Come talk to me about anything, I will talk you through things, listen, come up with strategies to deal with anxiety, etc, and/or send you to some more in depth support that we have on campus this year!
Send a thank you note - not for a material item, but to let someone know why you appreciate them. Written expressions of gratitude are linked to increased happiness.
