TRAFFIC ROUTINE
Hey there, parents!
We have a new traffic routine for our kids. Based on parents' requests and foremost safety concerns from both the school and parents, we have updated and revised our arrival and dismissal procedures to,
- to keep all students and parents safe and
- improve the flow of traffic and make it more efficient for all of our parents and staff.
All cars, regardless of grade level, should enter from the south via Stone Hollow from Metric. This applies to both morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.
There will be NO walk-ups for parents who do not live in the neighboring apartments. Parents living in the surrounding neighborhood must verify their addresses and request that their child be a walk-up. To do so, please click on this link to register as a walker. Parents will not be allowed to park in the parking lot for the surrounding areas and walk up.
For our Pre-K to 2nd grade parents, make a right in front of the building towards the main entrance, Building 100, to pick up your little ones once you have entered our parking lot. We'll have your student ready, and our teachers will help get your kids safely into the car. Once you've got your child, please turn right onto Gracy Farms Lane to exit. Please ensure that there are no obstacles so that students can get boarded on the left passenger side quickly.
For parents of our 3rd to 5th-grade students and their younger siblings, you will pick up your child in the back as per our regular drop-off procedures, and then head back down south to exit right. This way, you'll only be making a right turn, keeping traffic flowing smoothly—reminder: Younger siblings will be dismissed with older siblings in the back.
Just a couple of important reminders: There's no entrance from the north on Stone Hollow, and no entrance from the west on Gracie Farms. Also, only right turns are allowed when exiting. Thanks for helping us keep pick-up safe and efficient!"
There are no more walk-ups due to safety issues. Tutoring and clubs will dismiss in the back as usual. Please be patient as we work and evaluate the efficiency of the dismissal/ drop off procedures.
Here are the key details regarding the new traffic pattern:

- Traffic must come from the south side of Metric and Stone Hollow.

- Everyone will be warmly greeted at the back of the school.

- Parents must walk to the school to pick up their students and cannot park nearby.

After School:

HSS-Austin Parent Information - Keep our Kids & Schools Safe
In 2021, 4,613 Texans experienced gun-related deaths. Restricting access to guns is critical in reducing acts of violence, whether as self-harm or towards others. Guns should be stored unloaded in a safe or locked container, with ammunition stored elsewhere.
As required by Texas Education Code 37.222, the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC), in collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), is providing each school district & charter school the information & resources regarding the safe storage of firearms including information on section 46.13 of the Texas Penal Code. School Districts are required to provide this information to the parents or guardians of each student enrolled in the district or school.
