HSA NEWSLETTER October 2026
Osborne Elementary
We are in the final stretch of Race for Education!
We're officially two weeks away from Race for Education! We're excited to share that 73% of Osborne students have already participated. Last year, Osborne finished at 90% participation, and we'd love to beat that this year!
As announced at the Kickoff Assembly on September 8th, the K-2 and 3-5 classrooms with the highest participation after the first week would win a school-approved treat party. The winners of the Fast Start Treat Party, were Mrs. Chappell's Kindergarten class, Mrs. DiRenzo's second grade class, Mrs. Mounts second grade class, and last but not least Mrs. Grogan's third grade class. It was a very close race up till the end. Thank you to all who have participated so far and we are very grateful for your support to make this year's Race for Education a success!
Business sponsors are still needed! Please note that Sunday, October 4th is the deadline for business sponsors to be included on this year's Race for Education marketing.
There's still time to participate! Every student benefits from the programs, activities, experiences made possible through Race for Education. And there's even more to work toward-if Osborne reaches our school-wide goal, students will earn new indoor recess games AND a book vending machine! Once again, thank you for all your support of Race for Education! This is Osborne's only fundraiser of the year, and the funds raised support field trips and assemblies, after-school clubs, Dream Card events, Field Day, the Ice Cream Social, the 5th Grade Picnic, and so much more throughout the year.
October is such a busy month at Osborne! In addition to helping us reach our fundraising goals there are many other ways you can get involved this month! Consider signing up to volunteer during Race for Education day on October 15th, volunteer during the book fair on October 22nd, help out in the school library, or sign up to be a cafeteria monitor. Keep reading for details and sign-ups. Remember - when we each do a little, we can accomplish a lot!
