Dear journalism family,
Please get your Harvey contest material submitted before Monday! Yes, this is another extension, but judges will not be assigned categories until after the weekend. It doesn’t hurt to give everyone a few more days.
Some important notes:
• If you do not see your student media outlet on the Harvey contestant login page, email IHSPA@franklincollege.edu and let me know you want an account for newspaper, yearbook, website, and/or broadcast. I will take care of it ASAP.
• All IHSPA contests and critiques are for current members. Please check the spreadsheet on the membership page to ensure your school is up to date. If it is not listed, then you must fill out this form to participate in Harvey competition and Hoosier Star feedback. Dues and fees can be paid afterward using this invoice.
• IHSPA will close the membership renewal window Dec. 15. This is a new policy put in place to 1.) provide a reasonably stable count for budgeting, programming, services, etc. and 2.) create a clear distinction between active and expired members. After Dec. 15, renewals will not be accepted until the 2027 window opens July 15. Educational resources such as journalism standards, adviser newsletter, and Hoosier Star evaluation forms will remain available for everyone, regardless of membership status. As with any new policy, there are bound to be unforeseen questions and concerns. Please do not hesitate to send those my way.
