We have had a great first week back from Christmas break. We have now completed the first half of our school year. Report cards will go home on Monday. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's report card, please let us know. We want to ensure that you are able to see from your child's report card the progress that has been made so far and find areas that you can work on at home. The Measure of Academic Performance (MAP) score is listed in your child's report card. To better understand your child's MAP assessment, click on the link in this newsletter where to find the family guide to MAP growth. Remember to have your child log into IXL and work at home on math and language. Our IXL software is aligned to your child's individual learning needs and all students can benefit from practicing IXL at home.
Please read the important dates section below so you can stay in the know of what is happening at Walker in January and February. Don't forget to order your child a Walker yearbook so they will have a keepsake of memories from this school year. Yearbooks can be ordered online and the link can be found in this newsletter.
