KMS NEWSLETTER

Dear KMS Families,
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we want to make sure every family has the information they need. This Friday, May 22nd, is the last day of grading for Quarter 4. If your student has any failing quarter grades, Credit Recovery is the only way to make them up this year. Students need a yearly average of 60 or better in ELA, Reading, Writing, and Math to avoid summer school or repeating a class.
We also want families to know that students with failing grades and/or Tier II or Tier III behavioral referrals may not be eligible for some end-of-year activities.
On a fun note, our annual KMS Multicultural Festival is on Tuesday, May 26th! We will kick off with live performances, followed by a day of multicultural learning activities in classrooms. We are looking forward to a great day of celebrating our school community together.
Please also look below at the grade-level end-of-year timelines for the last week of school, so your family knows what to expect as we wrap up the year.
Finally, we want to invite all families to our upcoming Parent Forum, Your Voice Matters, on Thursday, June 4th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in the Kodiak Middle School Library. This is not a presentation from administration. We simply want to hear from you. Come share what you feel is going well at KMS and where you think we can keep improving. Food and drinks will be provided, and we hope to see you there.
In Partnership,
Judith Bruns, Principal
Pam Gray, Assistant Principal
