Just a quick note to wish all students, families and WP teachers and staff a wonderful winter break next week. We’ll see you all on Monday, February 23. Be safe, have fun, and let's be ready for the final push to the end of the school year.

Community Cupboard Open This Week
Since the winter break is coming up in a few weeks, we are opening the Community Cupboard Monday- Friday of this week. The WP PTA has raised significant funds (through your generosity) to purchase food items that members of our community may need to get through the week-long break. The WP Community Cupboard will have basic food staples for our families Monday-Friday of next week during school hours (8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.) WP families picking up food simply buzz the front door and say, “Community Cupboard,” then walk over to Trailer C (you don’t have to enter the building). Open the door of Trailer C, place the items in your bags (please bring your own), and exit, closing the door behind you.
Upcoming Decatur Parents Network Event
The Decatur Parents Network and the Decatur Education Foundation are hosting another event on February 25 for Decatur parents to have a community conversation: Anxiety, Depression, and Suicidal Thoughts: Supporting Your Child's Mental Health. It certainly is a topic of interest to all parents, regardless of age.
This event will take place at DHS Learning Commons on February 25 from 6:30 to 8:00. This event is for adults only. The Decatur Parents Network and the Decatur Education Foundation are collaborating this year on the Speaker Series. The Decatur Prevention Initiative offers additional funding and support for these events.

Take GaDOE's Annual School Climate Survey
Please take a moment this week to make your voice heard and participate in the Georgia Department of Education climate survey for your school! Your participation and feedback are greatly appreciated. The data collected will help determine the School Climate Star Ratings for the 2026-27 school year, which will enable schools to improve or build upon their successes.

The Winnona Park Yearbook Committee wants to see all you've been doing in school this year! Please email photos of your Wildcats in action to yearbook@wpespta.org.
