A Message from Mrs. Albright
Friday, October 16, 2026
What a fantastic day for this year's Yorkshire Pumpkin Patch! Our students had an absolute blast wandering through the patch, carefully inspecting every size and shape until they found their very own pumpkin to take home. The smiles on their faces said it all. It was so much fun hearing each students thought process behind why they chose their special pumpkin. It’s officially become one of our favorite traditions of fall. A huge thank you to our incredible PTO for organizing and funding this wonderful experience for our school. Your hard work behind the scenes and continuous support create such meaningful memories for our students. We are so grateful for everything you do to make Yorkshire such a special place to learn and grow!
Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Monday, October 19! If your child missed the original picture day or needs a new photo taken, please ensure they are ready to smile for the camera on Monday.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend making memories together!
Notes From the Library
Did you know our local public library offers a wealth of free resources that complement what we do here at the school library? York County Libraries offers hands-on STEAM activities, "Tales for Tails" therapy dog reading sessions, story walks, year-round reading challenges, and free access to premium online learning tools. Their GOAL program (Grade One at the Library) encourages 1st graders to sign up for a library card and earn prizes on their first and second visits.
Library cards are available for every York County resident and are free. You can drop by any local YCL branch or sign up online to get instant access to digital materials.
Explore all child and family programs directly at yorklibraries.org/for-you/kids.
Thank you for encouraging your child to read and explore. Together—between home, school, and the public library—we can give our kids the tools they need to thrive!
Happy Reading!
Exciting Volunteer Opportunity
We need volunteers to present Junior Achievement programs in our classrooms.
For as little as an hour a week (5 visits), you can make a difference in the lives of young people in your community. JA programs provide important life skills through hands-on educational activities focusing on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
Our programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and real world applications, enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
