SRES Vision/Mission
Slate Ridge Elementary is committed to nurturing young minds and fostering lifelong learning while cultivating an inclusive and engaging school environment where all students develop social and emotional competence and problem solving skills to facilitate experiences for future success.

We believe every child can learn to read with the right instruction and support. Guided by the Science of Reading, our team is committed to explicit teaching, consistent practices, and timely intervention to ensure all students leave elementary school as strong, confident readers.
Principal’s Corner
What a great week at Slate Ridge! We enjoyed welcoming our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students and families to our first Morning Treat with the Toucans events. It was wonderful to spend time together and celebrate our students. We are already looking forward to welcoming our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families in November!
Our Parent-Teacher Conferences are getting closer. Please make sure you reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a conference. Our first conference evening will be October 7, followed by our second conference evening on October 15.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community. Have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Dr. Parlar, Principal
Assistant Principal's Corner
Safety Patrol Has Officially Begun!
This week marked our first Safety Patrol meeting of the 2026–2027 school year! Our Safety Patrol students officially received their badges and belts and are excited to begin serving our school community.
During our weekly meetings, students will learn and practice their responsibilities while helping promote safety, responsibility, and positive behavior throughout Slate Ridge. We are so proud of these students for taking on this important leadership role and look forward to seeing them in action throughout the school year!

Annual Title 1 Meeting
Date: October 7, 2026
Time: 4:00 PM
Location: Slate Ridge Elementary Cafeteria
Dear Slate Ridge Elementary Families,
You are cordially invited to attend our Annual Title I Meeting on October 7 at 4:00 PM in the Slate Ridge Elementary Cafeteria.
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) [reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)] provides financial assistance to school districts with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families. This funding helps ensure that all our children meet the high expectations of challenging academic content standards.
At this meeting, we will discuss how Title I funds support our students, our academic programs, and how we can work together to promote student success.
This is an optional meeting, and all of our parents are welcome to join us. We value your voice and partnership in our school community!
We hope to see you there!
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Morning Arrival (8:20–8:30 AM)
Enter from Taylor Rd., drive through the car rider loop, and drop students along the sidewalk in the designated zone. Students will enter through the back gym entrance. Doors close at 8:30 AM sharp—any student arriving after this time will be marked tardy and must be signed in at the front office by a parent/guardian.
Afternoon Dismissal (2:55 PM)
Dismissal begins at 2:55 PM using the same car rider loop. Car riders MUST have their YELLOW dismissal card displayed on the windshield—no exceptions. All students must be picked up by 3:15 PM; after this time, we may contact Reynoldsburg Police or CPS if we cannot reach you.
Office Pick-Up
If picking up a student from the office during school hours or after 2:55 PM, a state-issued ID is required. No exceptions.
