Bernice Young Elementary School Week of 11/2
We had a fantastic time at The Color Run and Fall Parties! Thank you to all of our parents that helped with the success. The online MyBooster is closing today (Friday, Oct 30). If you have donations through the paper copies. Please bring those to the office on Monday. On Thursday we will have our STEAM Night!! You won't want to miss out! See information below.
- 2nd grade will take their ATLAS Interims on Tuesday and Thursday. Ms. Place's class will test on Wednesday and Thursday. Reminder: you can access the parent portal using the ATLAS code you received at conferences. Please allow a few days for the portal to update all the scores.
- Each school year we have a Yearbook. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, don't delay. Prices are cheaper now and increase next semester. A paper copy will come home this week OR you can order online.
- For those students that are participating in our Wild Dog Races, the last one is Wednesday at George ( 3200 S Powell St, Springdale, AR 72764). This is the city championship. The more medals we get, the better! Let's bring home a trophy!!! Thank you Coach Mitchell and Coach Moppin for making this happen.
Join us for STEAM night on Thursday! This is one of our BIGGEST Family events and it is FREE!!! Drop in from from 5:00-7:30 and the book bus is coming…ALL Young students will get to pick a free book. There are tons of community partners and teachers hosting activities. Bring the whole family. Dinner will also be served-$7.00-pizza, Little Debbie and a drink. Click the picture to preorder!
- Our Color Run was a HUGE success. Please bring in any fundraising money you have to the school by Monday. MyBooster will close today! Friday, October 30th.
- BYE Merchandise Preorders Are Open! Select merchandise is available to preorder now through November 8! Last chance for hats! We have a limited number remaining in each hat option, and we will not be ordering more. Grab your favorite before it’s gone! Scan the QR code or click HERE to shop and support the BYE PTA. Update on the Mini Wild Dog Races
We have another race this week. Please make sure you signed up for the races in advance. One registration was for all three races. This was in addition to the Running Club.
10/21: George Junior High location was a success!!! So many students attended and did so well!
10/28: Har-Ber...fun run with shortened distances and we encourage costumes
11/11: George...City Championship...combined races (k-1 boys and girls same time, etc).
Veteran's Day- Planning Ahead
Veterans Day is coming soon. Our second graders will be performing for Veterans Day this year. We are planning to add a small slideshow to our performance. If there is a veteran or active military member in your child's life, please send a picture to younginfo@sdale.org. Include the veteran's name and student's name. All photos need to be sent in by Sunday, November 8. We will include all slides from last year if the student still attends Young Elementary. If there are changes to that slide, please let us know. You are invited to attend The Veterans Day program on Tuesday, November 10th at 6:00PM. All Veterans are welcome!

We are excited to offer families the opportunity to celebrate their child’s birthday by displaying a Happy Birthday on our outdoor digital sign! Order now so you don't forget!
The happy birthday will be displayed during your child’s birthday week for $10. Complete the digital form AND then pay and the Happy Birthday message will be displayed.
The earlier, the better! Sign up now and we'll have your child's name on the calendar & their Happy Birthday message ready to go.
We are not here over long breaks or on the weekend. Please enter birthdays in advance if you want them displayed on your child's special day.
Please note: Birthday treats may NOT be brought to school to share with classmates. We invite families to celebrate their child with a birthday message on our outdoor digital sign instead!
