Principal's Message

Dear Allenwood Families,

As we approach the end of another school year, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on what a special place Allenwood Elementary School is and how thankful I am to be a Dragon! I am honored to be a part of this amazing school community. This year has reminded me just how exceptional our students and staff truly are—their kindness, dedication, and enthusiasm make Allenwood a place where learning and growth thrive every day.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents and guardians for your continued partnership and support. A special thank you to our PTG, whose time, effort, and creativity helped make this year’s grade-level events so memorable for our students. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference, and we are so fortunate to have such a strong school community.

As we close out the year, students have successfully completed their iReady and DIBELS assessments. These results will help next year’s teachers begin their instruction with a clear understanding of each student’s current academic level—setting the stage for continued success in the fall.

Here are some important upcoming dates to keep in mind:

  • June 4: 3rd Grade Wax Museum

  • June 4: 5th Grade Field Trip to Howell Point Swim Club

  • June 6: Spirit Day – Crazy Hair Day!

  • June 11: 5th Grade Yearbook Signing

  • June 11: Classroom Parties:

    • Kindergarten: 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM

    • 1st Grade: 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM

    • 2nd Grade: 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM

    • 3rd Grade: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM

    • 4th Grade: 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

  • June 13: 5th Grade Clap Out – 11:00 AM

This June, let's celebrate the end of the year and take time to recognize all that our students have accomplished. Thank you once again for being a vital part of the Allenwood community.

Sincerely,

James Sterenczak
Principal

The WTEA's "A Teacher to Remember" Essay Contest

Student winners of the WTEA’s “A Teacher to Remember” essay contest read heartfelt essays to the teachers they chose to honor. A beautiful reminder of the impact our amazing staff makes every day. Allenwood School’s Erin Speranza wrote her essay about Mrs. Victoria McLaughlin.
